Tamiya 1/48 2.5ton 6x6 US Airfield Fuel Truck

Post by MakingModelsAgain »

Out of the box - again - with the only intervention by me being that I masked and painted the stars on the doors, the bonnet and the cab roof so that weathering wouldn't highlight Tamiya's rather thick decals. It went together as you might expect of a new-tooling from the master - flawlessly. Also my first go at figure painting and might justifiably be my last! ;)

After a few hours work...

Some tonal pre-shading...

...and the effect.

Used the decal sheet as a master.

Came out ok with only a little bleed on the door. Nothing that can't be dealt with.

The finished article with pump dude...

...about to fuel up a big ol' P-47.

Excellent Gary. The figure turned out really nice as well. Really makes a scene when added to a base with an aircraft.

Brilliant.

Fantastic, as always! What colour did you use for 'pre shading'?

Very, very nice. It's as if the vehicle and plane were made for each other! Nice figure too :th:
