WW1 18 Pounder QF Field Gun Mk 1 - “Ubique” Revealed

Post by Rob »

British WW1 18 Pounder QF Field Gun Mk 1 - “Ubique”

Well, all is done and dusted and I am very proud to present my model to which I have given the title “Ubique”

"Ubique" - adv. Latin. everywhere. Also, the motto of the Royal Artillery along with "Quo Fas et Gloria Ducunt" - Where Right and Glory lead

Image

From ‘Ubique’, Kipling, 1903...

Ubique means that warnin’ grunt the perished linesman knows,
When o’er ’is strung an’ sufferin’ front the shrapnel sprays ’is foes;
An’ as their firin’ dies away the ’usky whisper runs
From lips that ’ave n’t drunk all day: “The Guns! Thank Gawd, the Guns!”

Without further ado….

Bloomin' marvelous, simply extraordinary, prodigiously impeccable and staggeringly stupendous Rob.

You have done a fitting tribute to the conflict with this little creation - can't wait to see what you will turn your hands to for the WW1 SiG.

Gorgeous work mate, really gorgeous. The diorama tells a story and that is always good to see. Excellent painting, modelling and final composition mate. Well done.
