"The muddy road to Mga" BT-7 buddy build reveal

Post by HamilkarBarkas »

Hi guys :cheers2:

I just finished my BT-7 buddy build diorama, it shows a bogged down BT-7 next to a railway crossing on a road nearby Mga, a city a bit eastwards of St. Petersburg (former Leningrad). German soldiers painted a directory on the wreck, the two figures show members German military police. Its in 1/35 scale. I used a pretty wild mix of kit manufacturers to create this scene, the tank is from Tamiya, the bike from Zvezda, the figures are from Dragon and the railways are from Trumpeter.
I mainly focused on the wet mud effects and tested some new techniques. I think it payed off, i´m very happy about the result. How i did that will be demonstrated in a video.
As some of you know i´m doing a building review series about this project on my YouTube channel, the next video should be available tomorrow. It depends on how much time i want to put into the subtitles.

:jd: Impressive to say the least, easily worthy of being an article in a weathering magazine.

Well done.

Outstanding!!!
That's some of the best mud effects that I've ever seen Mike! We all know that half the war was spent in the mud, so half of your Dio's are set for the rest of your life if you can keep doing these.
Absolutely wondrous work.
The bogged doe BT-7 is perfect. It blends in seamlessly with the story and the mud is again, perfect.
Well done buddy, I'll be looking forward to any vids that you put out on this.

This was an awesome series to follow Michael.
The high point being that extensive mud how-to... that was worth it's weight in gold to me my friend... thank you for that.
What a wonderful build.
