The Road to St. Lo, Ambush in the Bocage.

Post by rwsmith14 »

Been working on this for about six months, finally finished this morning. This is my First Armor build since I was like 10 yrs old. I remember it did not go well and haven't built a tank since. this is also my first attempt at building a diorama. I'm very pleased with the outcome. The Sherman is Tamyia. came out good. used all the weathering techniques I learn from this Forum and Member's you tube channels. Same with the Diorama. I learned many things and would do a few things a little bit different for next time. I kind of went for it all on this one !! :pistols:

Thanks to members Michael C., Hollywood modelling, Guido, and especially Hamilkar Barkas!! I Watched videos and videos many times over to learn from you guys.. There are too many more guys to thank.. my apologies for not mentioning you all
Here she is : comments most welcome. sorry for the low quality pics

Hamilkar you were my inspiration for getting into this subject of armor and dioramas. I'm mainly an aircraft builder. you make it look so easy. Come to find out it is not as easy as you make it look!!!!. I learned and continue to learn much from you ,I hope I did you proud !! You were the first one I found on the you Tube channels, leading to finding the IPMS site.

Excellent diorama. Demonstrates well how instant fiery death could be around any corner for an armor crew. Well done on the tank, figures, and ground work.
