1/35 Tamiya Panzer II Ausf A

Post by alextheblue »

Well, it's finally finished and this represents a few firsts for me. First SIG, first diorama first fully completed build. I have about half-a-dozen tanks that are "finished", but this is the first time that I've actually been brave enough to attempt some weathering. I'm fairly pleased on the whole, although there are quite a few things that I will do differently next time. Thoroughly enjoyed taking part and I almost didn't as I didn't (and still don't) think that the standard of my work is up to that of you's lot. However, everyone on this great forum is always so encouraging and supportive, I thought - why not, what's the worst that could happen!!

I was hoping to take the final reveal pictures outside, but it has chucked down all day. The pictures I took are too dark ideally, but being impatient I decided to put these up anyways and if the weathers better tomorrow, I can always add a couple more, hopefully with better lighting!

Here goes, and please feel free to comment, criticize and poke fun as you see fit! :th:

Awesome Alex! Great work sir! One question though. Is the fellow in the tower blowing into his hands to warm them or lighting up a smoke? :th:

Holy Toledo! This is awesome!
Alex buddy... you've done a wonderful job on this. The weathering on the Pz II is really well done for one of your first attempts.
It looks fantastic.
That guard tower and the fellas inside really got my attention though.
You posed and placed them really well. They look very casual and candid. That's an art form in and of itself in dioramas.
Creating candid scenes is the holy grail of diorama construction.
So straight out of the gate you managed to pick a winner Alex.
Well done!!!

Thanks Michael, that means a lot. When I first joined this great forum it was your dips in particular that inspired me to want to try new things and learn as much as I can. I've still got miles and miles to go, but I'm going to enjoy every step of the journey! :th:
