2014 Group Builds - YOU Decide.....

Post by Lee »

There will be three main ISM Group Builds in 2014, one every four months. Rather than us dictating to you what they will be, we're going to let you guys decide.

Above you will see 10 options, which have all been suggested by members. You have three votes to cast. You can change your votes at any time. The poll will run for 30 days from today. The three GBs with the most votes at the end of the poll will be ISMs three main GBs for 2014.

Below are the basis for each GB...

Tom Clancy - Anything that appears in a Tom Clancy Novel or Game.
IDF/IAI - If it's Israeli, it's in!
D-Day 70th Anniversary - Any vehicle/aircraft/soldier inlvoved.
Vietnam - We love the smell of napalm in the morning!
Pearl Harbour - Anything involved in the battle.
Persian Gulf War - Anything from any country directly involved.
Falklands War - Anything from the UK or Argentina used in the Falklands war.
100 Years of Bombers 1900 - 2000 - Bombers of any type from any time in the 100 year period.
Civillian and Emergency Vehicles - Any civillian/emergency vehicle or aircraft.
Shelf of DOOM - Any kit that sits in your mancave unfinished due to what ever reason.

Please choose wisely as once these have been decided that's it there will be no other GBs in 2014. We will be doing the same for the four main ISM SiGs for 2014 too.

Looking forward to seeing what three prevail.

Have fun :D

D-Day, IDF and Doom for me.

If I only join in one GB next year, it's got to be D-Day (if it's picked of course). Love Normandy and visit there a lot - every time I go I visit the beaches and every time it's quite an overwhelming experience.

Again, if D-Day does get picked - would it end on the 6th of June perhaps? Wouldn't it be great to try and get as many of us as possible to meet up somewhere and review the entries in person! Bit of a fanciful idea - but who knows!!

D-day is the main one for me but also IDF as I've never done anything of that nature and the Falklands as I spent time down there.

D-Day for sure, although Russ Gossellin is running a D-Day GB on YT starting next year, so you might want to speak to him if it gets picked as one and see about combining them, as if they are run separate a lot of people might have already done a D-Day thing earlier in the year than the D-Day GB on here, if you get my drift.

Gulf War and Bombers as well

IDF/Bombers/D-Day for me.

Another choice could have been a splash of colour. Great opportunity for mad stuff.

As WW1 is elsewhere (but it seems a bit wide a subject to be a SIG thing), D-Day, Vietnam and Civilian Vehicles have got my vote.

D-Day, 100 Years of Bombers and why not, a Civilian Vehicle! I did a bit of shopping at the Nationals (Paul and Lee I did actually show you the figures) but have a bit of a buzz for some First War stuff especially as it's the big anniversary next, any chance you might do something for that?

Vietnam, want to build my PBR, and one of the T-54s.

Too bad the Pacific theatre is not part of next years list, I am going to build my LVT

I can do an Abrams or a Challenger for the Gulf war, that would be cool.

Shelf of doom and civilian for me.

I could not agree more Paul, there are soooo many cool kits out there that you can try and you will be amazed what tricks and techniques you will pickup stepping outside camo :-)

And after helping w a couple of displays locally it is the scifi/movie and shiny's that grab the attention of the next generation of modellers that the hobby always needs.
