You've taken lemons and made lemonade my friend. Well done.
This is a kit that would normally sit well in the bottom of the bin. You've rescued her quite beautifully.
If I had any advise at all it would be to simply give her a matte coat and maybe a diorama. But that is because I love tigers on Dio's.
Well done dude!!!

It's difficult to give critical feedback on a build without having the model in front of the viewer. Pics can only say so much. From what I see, you have a good hand on painting modulation. General building skills are looking great. Was there anything in particular you wanted feedback on? I like this tiger. Is it a completely OoB build?

Re: Tiger (Zvezda)
Thank you. And Coen I think I might try and give it a proper matt coat over spray. I will post pics after its done done maybe in a couple of days or a week. Potential for good before and after pics. And yes Zvezda needs some love and care, but wasn't the worst kit likeCoen wrote:You've taken lemons and made lemonade my friend. Well done.

hey vilkas! great work buddy i really like your tiger! i've built the same kit a few weeks ago! you can find my tiger in the armor in progress section! but i'm not finished i only did the camouflage yet! as gary said the kit doesn't have a good reputation but i enjoyed the build! did you enjoy it?

Re: Tiger (Zvezda)
Really Good Work with weathering
..Who say taht One colour is jejune? (Its not easy with efect) , but i have one question for this >>> the Barrel and the muzle brake in Gun are to clear for me - I look and i think that The gun was one day on the front > and 0ne , two times used, ...but All Tank minimum half Year in Action .

My PORTFOLIO all finished models : http://intscalemodeller.com/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=2864
Re: Tiger (Zvezda)
on the one hand you're right the muzzle brake was red or grey primed that depends on the primer! it's a common mistake that modellers paint the front of the barrels black. the barrel is one part of the tank with a short maintenance interval. you clean it a lot, especially in war times! (man my arms still hurt when i think about that stupid task ... ) on the other hand you're wrong because german tanks had a short life. at the beginning of the war the lifetime of a tank was longer because the tanks weren't that heavy and the infrastructure was better but at mid or end war the lifetime of a tank was very short. the supply was bad and the drivers weren't that well trained as at the beginning of the war and a good driver is so unbelievable important. another point is that tanks like panther, tiger, tiger 2 were researched in a short timeframe and the had a lot of mechanical problems so the rough terrain and the bad supply were their end after a few days or weeks. a lot of them didn't even make a week before they got destroyed. they often rolled from the factory to the station and from there directly to the front.
on the bench: too much -.-
Re: Tiger (Zvezda)
I know it did cross my mind, to play with the muzzle, when painting, but I decided against it at the time. Well after all since posting the photos Tiger got another layer of matt coat as comments
and I do think it looks better now(I didn't want to upload any more photos after cause I don't want this to turn in to in progress section
). I am very thankful for all the comments and appreciate suggestions. I'm not sure if I will be altering the current model any further (maybe...) but certainly will take it in to consideration for future builds, thank you.

I presume you had a look at these?

Nice tank
It is a little clean on the tracks/wheels for my taste but I like em dirty
. A little dust on her with mud for the crew climbing up and down...nothing mental over the top though. Not a criticism more a suggestion really. Depends on whether its a shelf or dio sitter.

Re: Tiger (Zvezda)
This one is totally a shelf sitter, and unless I land it in a pool of dirt I usually leave the mud off. well maybe next one could be a bit dirtier...In about 1-2 month I will be doing late variant dragon Tiger, so I may muddy that one up
