Dragon M48A3 Mod.B in 1:35 scale

Post by HamilkarBarkas »

A kit review of the rather new Dragon M48 kit - enjoy :)

The M48 kit from Dragon has been released not that long ago and it was on my wishlist so when i stumbled over it on the hobby shop i just had to buy it. The kit is quite expensive (around 50€) and has some shortcommings (the missing gun covering aswell as the searchlight), but apart from that is an awesome kit i´m really looking forward to build. I intend to buy some more aftermarket stuff for it, a sandbag additional armour would be my favourite. We will see!

This kit looks great! Getting back into the hobby, some of those kits look pretty intimidating. I think my LHS sells them for around $45 CAD. Maybe I'll pick one up... Thank's for this!! :thumb2:

Which LHS is that Mike if I can ask?
There's two good ones in the city, one you may not know about but it's a great place and the owner is a riot.

Maritime Hobby... I might be mistaken on the price though, I just remember a bunch of their Dragon tanks at around $45-55, although some are $69, it might be one of those, might go check tomorrow.

What other shop is there? The problem is that I don't have a car, and this city's public transpo SUCKS!

Cheers :boom:

Dude... you're preachin to the chour... it's the 3rd worst public transit system in North America haha.
So ya... it sucks.
The high prices on model kits in Canada is a the bane of our LHS. They can't compete with the online Asian markets.
As much as I'd love to, I can't buy kits from our LHS. They're too expensive.

The other hobby shop isn't far from John's place (Maritime Hobby).
It's on Quinpool across from the StupidStore. It's called Nautilus Aquatics.
The fella that owns it, Mike, is a great guy, he sells scuba gear on one side of his shop and model stuff on the other.
He's a master diver and instructor as well as a decent modeller... so why not eh?
There's a third one in Dartmouth, so it might be a bit out of your way. It's called Dixon Hobbies, it's new.
They do a lot of online sales and mail order.
I can send you the link to them if you like.

John's awesome! So are the other guys that work there! I've found some awesome deals there though. The Huey Hog was only $16, less than online. I've heard about this Nautilus place, I wanna go check it out as I'm a diver too. If you could send me the info on the other store, that would be amazing!

Thanks Coen, awesome as always!
