Thank you guys , seems that the most difficult here will be the build , so here we start while the 'Frank' , one of my other builds in this SiG is waiting for some Primer drying ...It is real good to have more than one build I think , like this I can move from one to another and change the type of build and work ...

So, Update 1 on the 'Kamikaze' Pilot ,

This one should be the Photo that inspired the author of the Bust

Image

Now the build , will post some History later :

For this build I bought the Bust from Andrea Miniatures , and also a wood base :

Image

Image

Image

Opening of the box ...very well packed , even the box it is very nice :

Image

So what is in the box ?

Image

The bust in resin ...already has a resin base  , but seems to me that the wood base is nice :th: , the arms are in metal , the wire is to the hanging gloves ...

Image

Gloves and acessories in a plastic bag :

Image

Instructions ? ....no it is just to show you how to cut the wire and lenght in the several sections of it ...really no need of instructions as all seems very simple ...

Image

Close up on the 'Kamikaze' Bust ...very nice detail ! Not too much work to do ...really it is my first bust and seems to me that this builds are simple .No sanding or gritting to be done

Acessories :Gloves , Life Jacket harnesses, Pistol ...Pistol cord :

Image

Initiating the build :

Image

Will use this CA Glue from Tamiya , it is a strong type _

Image

Also will use some Tamiya acelerator for CA glue !

Image

Arms Glued !

Image

Image

No Gaps to fill , all fits very nicely ! :th:

Now I wait and see what to do next , will prie everything and will paint the bust and acessories separately , I think it will be the best option ...

Image

To follow next update soon ...

Thank you for watching and please fell free to comment ...

I have seen similar kits, but I am not ready to have a go at one yet. The bust looks very detailed; a great expression in the face for sure. I look forward to see how you go about painting this fellow. :)

So one more update on this build ...

Primer on the figure , choose White one ...

Image

Image

Will start doing the base painting in the face and in the vests and hair , and not too much to show really ...

Here are the pictures on how is this build (actually more of a painting job ;) )

Here is the guy on my Laptop so you to see it's size ...

Image

In here you may see how is the painting stage , looking good already , actually I do not expect to have a great result as this is my first figure , but already is looking nice and something good to relief the building stress , will do more in future ...

Image

Next steps , in the face I will have more 6/7 Steps , and will try to do some shades in all the other colors as well , Will try to see what colors will use , for now I choose Tamiya XF-64 Red Brown for the jacket , Flat earth for the Life jacket , will then use maybe XF-60 or XF 59 or even the Buff color , still have the gloves , gun and cords to paint , the hair was painted XF-1 Flat Black ... Use an AK Interactive Flesh and skin colors Set for the face and hands ...

First 'mistake' , maybe I should haved glued the arms on a later step , as now it is somehow hard to paint some ares , but doing is learning , and one more that I learned today !

So final updates ...

I invite you to see in Wikipedia the History of Kamikaze pilots in WWII ,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamikaze

Very interesting , can't stop thinking on what leaves somebody on doing an act like this , in those days , in our days ...even that in WWII Japanese their Honor and love for the emperor and family leave the pilots to volunteer to this , or not as some historians mention .

well the build was fast and really I do not had that wrk as the figure was so nice , I already buy another figure , not a bust , as I find it quite nice to do and always a sort of build interval in the dioramas and tanks ...

well after the first paint job , i then go for details , painting eyes , eyebrows , and trying for the first time to make some shadows and light effects , well not very acomplished , I used AK Interactive Flesh Paint Set and is very funy to play with the different flesh tones , glazes and dark colors to show some detail , I first finish painting the Kamikaze but it looks that he has spent some time in the beach , then i decide to exactly play with the flesh tones and achieved some nice effect for the first figure that I paint (not 1/35 of course ...)

so some images :

Image

Image

You see the pink tone in is face ...also the Hinomaru was hard to paint in free hand

Image

Backside ...

Image

Now already with some light tones aplied

Image

Then finish painting the remaining acessories

Image

And after fixing the acessories , a Clear Varnish was apllied ...I aplied TS 13 from Tamiya , the colors that I used for the jacket , acessories pistol and so on were all Tamiya acrylics and some Enamel in the Pistol .

After the coat , a wash of Artist Oil and White Spirit

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Then the base ...remember that I buy a wood base , but I was looking and thought ...hey it is a Japanese Pilot , so why not to use the resin base that came in the kit and paint th base Japanese IJN green and make some 'chipping' ( let's call it that...) with some aluminium to look like a very weathered JApanese Plane ...

So the result :

Image

Image

Then with a sponge :

Image

With the Kamikaze now ...and in my opinion very Nice !!!I liked a lot and enjoy this build/painting a lot , really a lot to improve , but recommend this figure to everybody , if you can aford it or if you want to make this type of figures ...I now know that I want ...far away the guy that thought that can only make Planes ;)

MAybe i use this Big Japanese Flag in the Final Reveal ...
