Well I got quite a bit done tonight on the kit. Goes together very easy. No real fit issues so far and there really isn't much flash for a kit from 1971 lol.
My only complaint so far is the antenna...Instructions show the difference between the F and G antenna height but the kits antenna is molded into the antenna guard...

You could always do a little scratch building to change the antenae situation. Anyway, nice build up.

Nah, the build is the best part! that's why I do dragon kits usually. Nothing like opening a Marder III (about the same size as this) with over 600 parts! Lasts me months!

Wasn't happy with the molded on smoke candle box so I replaced it with a dragon 4 part piece.

Here's the antenna I made. It's movable as well, using a brass pin.

The more I work on this the more I start to get an idea of how small this tank was. About half the size of my Panzer IV and 1/3 the size of my King Tiger.

Anyway, got the first coat of color down. A bit thin in places but Ill be doing a second coat.

After replacing the molded on smoke candle box I had to remove the small tab from the upper hull that holds it to the lower hull. This wont really matter as the two will be glued together.

Its pretty easy to do I think.
Paint the model, seal with future or similar, thick coat of hairspray(cheap), coat of heavily thinned white.

Then after it dries a bit brush on some water and scrub away with a stiff brush.
Just have to be kind of careful weathering as the white will discolor quickly using washes and pigments.

Thanks! Im quite happy with it myself. Need to work on my turret numbers though, they don't look as good as I had hoped they would.

Tip: when scrubbing off the whitewash be careful not to scrub through to the plastic.
I did in a few spots. Just got done touching them up with some basecoat.

Although he really isn't wearing the correct uniform for a winter white wash...

Great work! For a dio, you could just do a simple base with nothing real special, but if you want to add figures, you could do some german troop handing out cigarettes to ward off the cold!

Im thinking of doing a diorama somewhere near Kharkov early 1943
But since I don't have any winter figures I may do spring 1943

My only issue with doing spring is that much of the white wash would be gone by then, if not completely.
So I may just hold of on finishing this until I can buy some winter crew members.

That turned out freaking awesome dude. Great work on the chipping.
I wouldn't worry about the uniform too much, the fellas weren't issued proper winter gear on time anyway so it's believable that he'd still only have his tunic.
Mind ya, he'd probably have wrapped himself in whatever was handy at the moment to stay warm.

So I took a bit of a break from modeling. Got the running gear and tracks weathered and the commander mounted.
All there is left to do is the base for this thing and it will be finished.

Hope to put up a video by this weekend.
