Thanks mate - and as for paint... your wish is my command!

Thinking I'd hit all the gaps & seams here she is in Ultimate primer
Image

Having done some digging around the general consensus on t'interweb is that this would have been in Green/Earth over Sky which made sense to me so that's what we're going with.

So I then flipped her over and laid down some Vallejo ModelAir Sky Type S - only to discover that I'd not been paying attention and missed some major flaws on the underside... out with the filler again...
Image

Image

Anyway after a few rounds of sorting out my indiscretions there I finally had a reasonable underside...
Image

This was masked off and the dark green was added up top. I may add another coat of this prior to masking off for the Dark Earth - I'll take another look later and decide if I'm happy with the coverage or not.
Image

I've also started work finishing up the under-danglage and will pop some pictures up later in the week - all being well I should be able to get this finished before the deadline.

Whilst digging about on the internet I also stumbled across some footage on the Imperial War Museum site here for those that are interested

Thanks as always for looking :cheers2:
Cheers, Neil

Things are ticking along nicely this week so here's another update.

After a second coat of dark green the upper surfaces were masked off using Tamiya tape for curves, standard tape and a little white tack for those hard to tape areas - looks like me and Gaz use the same technique looking at his Lanc build
Image

Then after a couple of coats of dark earth the masking was pulled off... and so was the aerial :wall: for the second time :bash:
Image

There's some touching up needed in a couple of places - I still haven't got the knack of getting masking tape into panel lines
Image

And underneath most of the lines look fairly neat as well
Image

Finally here's the undercarriage just about ready to go - the metallics were various shades of Games Workshop metals, the tyres are Vallejo dark rubber, and everything was given a black clay wash to finish off
Image

Hopefully I can tidy up the paintwork and get the decals on tomorrow evening and be in with a shout of getting it all done and dusted this weekend.

Thanks for looking :cheers2:
Cheers, Neil

Thanks guys! :cheers2:

I've cracked on a bit more and skipped a couple of stage photos but added the decals - these were very shiny but went down really nicely straight onto the satin finish the modelair generally leaves. Then gave it a dark dirt wash and wipe followed by AK Ultra Matte and this is how it turned out
Image

On the underside it sadly shows up where I had to obliterate some of that lovely surface detail in getting the thing together
Image

So coming along nicely and took the plunge to open up the glass too - just a little touch up needed here and there but otherwise happy
Image

Undercarriage was finished up and fitted after brush painting the inside of the bay-doors with some GW Metallic with an odd name...
Image

However Mr Valom and his team of psychotic elves had one more trick up their sleeves... the turret doesn't fit with the guns in place. Luckily I had the foresight to test this before gluing anything so I'll try and figure this one out over the weekend. Not completely happy with the paint in places on the turret either so I'll give that some more attention too.
Image

Anyway this is how she looks now and nearly at the finish line.
Image

All that's needed now is to sort that turret puzzle and add the nav lights, props and nose guns and wire up the antenna and I think we'll be done...

Thanks for looking - have a great weekend :cheers2:

Thanks guys :cheers2:

I do believe I might actually have finished this one...

Up front the props and nose guns were added
Image

And down the back I sorted the turret by extending the gap in the turret canopy with a square file - the alternative was to add a couple of shims to the side but that didn't look right at all. And a length of E-Z-Line has been added to the aerial.
Image

So calling this done and heading over to the reveal which is here

Thanks as always to everyone that stopped by to take a look and offer encouragement :cheers2:
