AMS-129 Geara Zulu

Post by JonMW »

So this is my firs Gundam thníng, I got it as a prize from Lysus for the Sci Fi SIG last year. So I thought I would try to get this thing together for this SIG. Now I don't know a thing about these things, but I'll have a go and see how it turns out.

The kit, now I totally forgot to take any sprue shot. I was sure I had and just started building and then saw I hadn't. So you'll just have to trust me that I didn't start too early ;)

Image
The kit goes together easily without any problem, took me an evening to build.

Image
Took it apart again to start prepping for some modifications and then paint.

I wanted it to have a bit rougher look, so I added some texture by dabbing Mr Surfacer 500 on almost all the light green parts using a cut down brush. I will probably knock it back a bit using a sander as it's a bit heavy for the scale.

As it stands now, next up is to add some battle damage.

Excellent! I think you'll enjoy it, it's a great kit to weather up.

Just realized the other day that it's just over a week left, so I better start doing some stuff! :eeek:

Have managed to paint pretty much everything during the weekend, started with painting pretty much everything in Mr Hobby Super iron followed by chipping fluid on some of the parts. These where then painted in Vallejo RLM71 and the paint chipped. The rest of the parts where painted in RLM 70 and some where left in the Super iron. Still need to do a bit of detail painting and then start the weathering.
