It's finally done after eight years in the making. Started with this back in 2006 using the Accurate Miniatures Corvette Grand Sport kit. It's a pretty nice base kit but lacking some small details, so I added a Model Car Garage PE set and resin gearbox, 3d printed oil coolers, Detail Master seat belts and machined some parts for the engine in aluminium and steel brake discs. Made a small base for it loosely representing the pit lane at Sebring from evergreen sheets and a picture frame.
I build it as the car Jim Hall prepared for Reger Penske and they both drove in the 1964 12 hours of Sebring where they finished 18th overall and 4th in class after having to replace a broken half shaft during the race with one they "borrowed" from a spectators Corvette in the parking lot.
