What modelling goodies did the postman deliver today....

I love these threads! Would be great if everyone could post their modelling goodies they get in the post or pick up from models shows and shops.....

I'll kick it off with this little lot. It's my birthday Thursday and my wonderful, wonderful wife (she reads this

) only went and bought me the full set of Vallejo Model Air paints from SnM stuff and even let me have them early...!!! Got a few other goodies including AK Mud & Dust sets and some track wash.

I also received these in the post today as a present to myself - I've earned it....lol

Needless to say I will be doing a review of both these pressies

Man...one day I will have that set!

There will be no new stuff for me for the forseeable future as my PhD funding has now finished, so until I actually get this PhD done and get a job I can't treat myself to anything! So I might not read this thread too much through jealously! lol

Today I got a couple more mr hobby paints that I was missing out of the range, plus a Vallejo model colour I was missing too.

And at last they re-released issue one of the ak weathering mag, I missed out on it first time and as I have to other 3 was glad to see it was rereleased, I'll do a review on them soon.

Good magazine ! got all 4's on my IPad ! well worth it ! Especially love their Various techniques on getting the same Effects using various products and techniques not just AKi products... which is a KEY point in getting this Magazine which isn't Just Self promotion...as I though it would be!!! and the Girl ! oh the Girl !!! LOL

if you have a chance at getting this magazine !!! Get it ! you won't regret it !

yeah the 747 looks a great kit had a quick look at it earlyer and its massive concidering the scale and its like having two kits in one, i couldnt belive the price when i seen it only £12.99 bargin!!! thought id get it something different i guess

The Tamiya Gepard is very old but yet...! Hold it's ground once built. I only wish some Aftermarket company would release the A2 add on components to make it current! They released it for the 1/16th scale Gepard but not the 1/35th.

I build mine a few years ago but I didn't know how to do Rain Effects on NATO vehicles..

Now with AKi rain effects and NATO washes... I'll be able to finish it off ...

Thisone I bougth this last weekend. It's from Italery, an italian vehicle and I think it will look great ( we will see )

Thats one of those kits i want aswell, made some axis tanks lately (like the semovente or the toldi) and i think the italians in particular made some really cool looking vehicles.

I got something in the mail on saturday, unfortunately made no pics, but it wasn´t something extraordinary anyway: Masterbox, German tankers at rest playing soccer, some grass tufts from fredericus rex and some goodies for the Hobby Boss 1/16scale tiger tank i have in my stash. Got an aluminium barrel, a metal machine gun and a metal antenna for it.

Not got much money but treated myself to a few paints from emodels.

Tamiya clear green and orange (for Seafire under fuselage lights)
Vallejo Model Air Black Green, UK Extra Dark Sea Grey and Duck Egg Green (equivalent to Humbrol 90, mainstay of the undersides of Spits/Hurris etc lol.

Two packages arrived for me today the first from eModels which I ordered when I thought I was going to do the RAF Mustang for the GB.

The second came from Models R Go which I ordered after I had changed my mind and realised I needed a completely different set of paints. I also took the chance to order a couple of other goodies as you can see. BTW the pipettes are a freebie from Models R Go, which was nice of them!

Right Group Build here I come!

The Tamiya Photoetch file was bought thanks to a tip from SuperDryBeef in his vid on working with photoetch. Thanks m8 much appreciated

BTW I know how much Models R Go must be making from selling pipettes as I buy them in bulk frequently! Lets just say their mark up is..... considerable.

They are still very common, i see them very often. They were placed mainly to thank god for a good harvest or to protect villages from floods just to name few examples. Some even remember places where a missing person was found (like the Petronilla cross in the forest of my village, a girl got lost in the forest and was found few days later, on this spot the cross was erected).
Nowadays you see very small versions of these crucifixes next to roads, if a person dies in a car accident the family often builds a small cross and erects it on the place where the accident happened. In my region they are called "Marterler" (in English something like "martyrdomies").

One is a display stand with mirroed base. like this

The other is a 'wire bender' which was a random purchase to top up a box coming from overseas that may come in useful at some point

They do a couple of different versions with the mirrors mounted on different angles to best show off ya chassis

Ok so not delivered by the postman, but still.

Used that 15%'off voucher today too saving me £16

Been thinking about my group build entry for the past few days and decided I wanted to do a king tiger instead so went for a look see at modelzone and found this.

Comes with photo etch grills, wire for the tow cables and a metal barrel too.

I'll get photos of it all and change my GB thread when the Nikon battery charges

And I saw this and just had to get it, really got the itch for modern planes now and always liked the F15

It's a reboxed academy kit (as eduard often do) but with all there goodies added.

So there's three sets of PE one instrument panels etc and 2 for the plane itself.

Lots of resin

A full canopy mask set and some nice decals too.

I will do a review of the F15 I think
