Update 1 thoughts
The tamiya plastic is fantastic to work with! The et model pe is easy to work with and the instructions are quite good. So happy little camper here! The barrel is dreamy.
Image

Nice extra with the fruili. Sides are prep for fenders. There are rough casting marks in the plastic but I'm gonna add my own with mr surfacer. So not so specific with the sanding.
Image

Casting numbers  + the frests are protected with a layer of plastic. Great work et

Thanks you!

Update 2 slow build and happy build. Third big fret build for me. Anyone who looking to start working with pe, go for tamiya base with et model frets. Have done voyager and griffon before. Buuuut what I missed in the et frets was rods. Wished that were some ammo for the DshK
Trying to deliver some popcorn action.

Casting nr and added rough casting

The top of superstructure is done  some mistakes but nothing to cry about.

Excellent touches Gustav. That PE is making the difference.
Are you planning an interior or are you adding crew to the model?

Love the pe.
Planing to add figures. The ones in the kit with some addons like new heads and these two figures. Doing a city diorama. Thinking of names like the new masters or something like that.

Thank you nige.

If you see any burnmarks, thats from me glueing something together that isn't surposed to be glued :shifty: so just ca. Gonna use some soldering to create some battle damage later on. Gonna be a banged up little tank from a long fight from bagration to Berlin. Just hope my skill level can create that.
Take care buddy

Happy update again! Amazing?! Just one complain! The plastic to protect the fenders had melt?! Fricking hard to get off. Otherwise just some glue on the wrong place but nothing I can't cover up. The build is going quite fast due lack of hinges on the tank. So this is a great first big fret starting tank.

Just love the menacing front.

One fender done! Sides I wait until the last. Otherwise I know I'm gonna destroy em.

Update pe done!!!! Last tiny things was hard to motivate myself  but great pe set! Thank you et modeller! Now stowage! Next step is a little bath for the beast then metal primer from tamiya.

I've added battle damage with soldering iron and BENDING! Surface texture is mr surfacer and true earth "rough casting" I've replaced the shackles with tiger metal ones and the horrible rope with metal.

Some paint is on! This is how I like to do my basework. Its preweathered and preshade with black and white paint. Then ultimate shadows to ultimate highlights. Now it looks a bit like a spaceship! But its the way I like it. Base is tamiya mix and ultimate highlights are vallejo yellow olive mixed with ice yellow

Image

Image

Image

It's drying with matt varnish.
Next step it's filter to unify the paintwork and then it's decal work. I'm using stencils so that's why I wait with the markings until the filter is dried.

The back hatch seams to have melted on the left side... The right grill caught some dirt and then paint so I've covered it up with stowage. :wall:

To make it look less like a spaceship and unify the paintwork ;) I gave it a filter mig production "green for allied tanks". The markings are stencils. My markings my space ship :shifty:

Update dio start.
From bagration to Berlin and it looks the part.

The tank is almost done. Heavy weathering. But I find the rust to be to much. I'm gonna find a way to hide it.

Image

The diorama base is done with white and blue foam. The blue foam is so I can sculp out curbs, pavement and so on. It's slanting to create a more dramatic look.

Love how you battered up that ol' 152.
How did you do those cobble stones on the dio? And what kind of material is it made of?
Did you use the bent pipe technique?

:bow:: thank you!

It's foam for bathroom floors. That's why it's so much denser than regular foam. It has been used in arts n crafts for quite some time, and can be found in office or hobby stores here in Sweden.Great material! The cobbles are made from 2 broken brushes. Take away the hair and you got a perfect cobble, the just push down a million times and you got a street. I'm gonna give it a coat of vallejo earth thinned with water to finish it off, before primer.

Gonna give this wall bricks next with a razerblade. Easy to identify the right foam is that it's blue in the western world.

Tackar! Well it's a bit over the top but it's the way I like it. It's holiday time and the only modelling now is from carmina hobby fuengirola Spain. Get back into when work is back on. Tack igen!

hi Gusta,

i was just looking to your rust effects u made here.
from above its top notch

but under the gun that's a little sad and those wheels maybe some oil and grease (to many wheels have the same color orange)
u known rust is more then one color and what u made on top of that tank is just SUPER!!!

congratulations Gusta still a masterpiece
