Games Workshop Dark Eldar

Post by Gav0909 »

Well these days I am mostly a scale modeller, but the majority of my modelling years was spent collecting warhammer 40k and flames of war. I haven't touched a 40k model in months now and generally have lost a bit of interest for now, but I do still have a small Dark Eldar army which needs finishing.

I thought I would show you some of the finished figures I have for this army.

They look great!

How long does it take you to paint one from start to finish?
Where does all the bloody time go.....?

@Lee each one took quite a bit actually as there is quite a bit of highlighting on these guys etc and I was trying to do the best job I could.

That is partly why I lost interest in them. They were taking ages to paint and ultimately I have nobody to play against here in Oban so it was seeming more and more a slightly pointless venture really.

Dark Eldar are one of the more interesting of the GW lines I think. You did a very good job. I dig the purple.

Great work, love the colors. I do the 1/6 scale fantasy figures from E2046. I'll have to put some pics up sometime.

Great painting of the Dark Eldar. As a guy who enjoys painting many of the GW range I applaud your obvious skill and do encourage you to paint maybe a few 'centre pieces' just to keep your hand in. Would be a pity to stop.

That is very good. Some great figures on this. I like the despondent look of the guy sitting at the back of the tank.

That's very cool. I just picked up a Warhammer figure today just to change things up. Can a you assemble with tamiyas extra thin cement or do you have to use something else?

No they are just plastic so can be glued with any poly cement.

Cheers for the comments. I no longer have these, as I stopped playing both Warhammer and Flames of War. I may get back into Flames of War now that I live where there will be gaming clubs etc. But not likely to do Warhammer again, too expensive and I couldn't do both scale modelling and wargaming at the same time.

Cheers Jase.

Sadly I no longer own these, or any GW stuff. Sold them all around 2 years or so ago now. I wasn't getting any gaming in where I lived and it felt odd wasting lots of money on GW stuff which wasn't getting used as it should be. So I went back into scale modelling instead.

I will have a look through my Photobucket albums and see if I have any WIP pics in there which I can post and perhaps try to recall how I painted them!
