Wow!! That's a BIG bird....30" wing span! I built one of these when I was a teenager, but that was in 1/144th scale, half the size of this one, and that took up a lot of space. I really enjoyed painting the multi-colored camouflage scheme and then making her look mean with tons of bombs on the undersides of the wings.

Enjoy building her mate, I'll be following this one closely :) :thumb1:

Cheers :cheers2:

For starters there is no need to put each picture into a seperate post. This just makes the thread very difficult to read and follow. If your pasting the IMG link from Photobucket, just paste as many as you want into a single post. Thanks.

Secondly, I am looking forward to seeing this come to life. The B-52 is a monster!

Back in 1969, when I was 10 years old, we went to an airshow at Westover AFB in Chicopee, Mass. My dad had been stationed there just after I was born (with the 99th bombardment wing) and we still lived close by. I only have a few photos from that day, one is of the plane I'm going to build for this GB, the KC-135A, and one is yours. They are both the stereotypical family photos; crooked and not centered. Granted, with the camera we had getting the B-52 in frame was a challenge!
I hope you don't mind my sharing this one with you.

so on with the build i started with the office not a lot of detail here , pilots have there seats moulded to there rear ends ,
the decals had to be trimed right back to the print due to the large overhang .

Pilots and cockpit look good. This going to be one big model :eeek:
Just finished reading Command and Control by Eric Schlosser (about nukes) and he mentions these planes few times, saying that when needed to to start engines in the hurry they jump start them with small explosive charges
