Labeling Model Kits

Wondering how you all label models if you do. I see some nice little plates, or printed labels etc...

I am thinking about doing it with Dog Tags as pictured, but they cost about $4.00 each, from mydogtag.com

There are small black chins that I think I may loop around the tracks or axles, and colored silencers, Grey (Ger) Brown (UK) Green (US) Red (Rus) Black (It) and Yellow (JP) and Canada and the other allies their own choice.

The have embossed or debossed, in or out, different finishes, brass if you were doing a ship.....

Currently none of my kits are marked and i am beginning to forget the full names of them.

Thought I would share the idea and see how others label their kits.

Those are American Dog tags....

is there any other nationality and "Era" available thru that site....?

German Dog-Tag or British Dog-tags do not look like that.....

They did have a Canadian version, not sure what the others look like. But yes era is indicated by it being punched in or punched our.

There are all kinds of pet tags too on the www of different shapes, no offense to our NATO brothers, but have no idea what shape.

I ordered $100 worth today and all are de bossed (stamped in) with the exception of the modern era tanks which are embossed ( out), old USA tags were de bossed, new embossed, I thought that was another nice effect.

So I also selected the silicone rubber silencers based on country;

Germany and his axis allies Gray
USA her allies green
UK her allies brown
Italy black
Japan yellow
Finland white
French blue
USSR red, my favorite
Norwegian, Dutch, Danish or Belgium will use the clear invisible ones

Will let you all know how they are.

There were several colors of the tags and am thinking brass for ships and black for aircraft.

May have to look into a press kit, they are $4.00 each, which isn't bad, but adds up.

Would like to see what others use to label their kits.

Here is a Canadian tag. That would be cool would be to get the tag style to match the country, that would be a hobby in its self.

amazing idea! sounds like you would have to wait to order a few at a time to justify the S&H.
i like the idea of somehow incorporating it into a dio, or small base too.
ex.
if your AFV was going through a muddy field, the dog-tag could be all muddy inside a puddle, or in a bush getting over-grown with shrubs... obviously without covering it up.

OK, I got my dog tags in the mail, they came very quick and were accurate.

I figured they might make a mistake and leave one out or something, but they all made it and some extras were included, not sure why, but duplicates of a few tags as well as some extra rubber silencers.

I am very happy with them.

The Embossed ones for modern armor is easier to read but the Debossed seems so old and realistic.

As I mentioned they offer different styles etc... and different colors of rubber.

I have atchaed them to my tank tracks so in 20 years when the County Health workers are throwing all my crap in the trash they will know something about the kit they are tossing.

For me it is a fun way to remember what version and what kit and what year I built them.
