The Unsung Heroes and their Tribute!!! Meng 1:35 Fire-Fighting Pick-Up

Post by RicRodrigues »

Hello, Friend!

If you stumbled in this thread by accident, welcome. Visit the build thread ( viewtopic.php?f=39&t=23201 ) and find out the story behind this Pick-Up and these Unsung Heroes.

If you ended up here after seeing the build thread, welcome to you as well!!! You know what took me to build this model as a tribute to a bunch of guys that nobody knows their names and that in a couple of months everyone will forget what they have done.

Either way, is a pleasure and an inspiration to call these heroes as friends and to have fought side-by-side against that relentless and merciless enemy.

To You, Unsung Heroes, My Tribute. And My Gratefull Recognition Of What You Have Done.
Thank You

As I mentioned before, the whole community came together and raised funds enough to rebuild the crashed Pick-Up.

The renewed Pick-Up was revealed to the general public on 28th October during a nice party, loads of nice live music and chilled beer, and most important, people attending the party as appreciation for what these guys had done. Important to mention that all the profits from the reveal party are to be used on the aquisition of a new fire-fighting kit that will be equiped on the renewed Pick-Up. It's inspiring to see a community raise from the ashes and come back to life with renewed strenght and will!!!

Fortunately, I was able to attend the party and join the celebration and, once again, to personnally thank each single one of these Unsung Heroes for their efforts and self-sacrifice during the wildfires on the Summer!!

To my surprise, my little modelling tribute had a place of honor during the whole party!!! Here you have, the Big Brother after the rebuild!!! Try to spot the little brother!!! :nena: :nena: :nena:

As a recognition for what they had done, I donated the kit to the association that owns the Pick-Up and their representatives were extremely touched with the small tribute (some of them were even impressed with the model, surprisingly!!!). In the end of the night and during all the speeches, the association decided that my little model should be in a local place where everyone can see it and where they all gathered on 18th June and where everything started, a little reminder of what happened and what they did.

So now, my Tribute for the Unsung Heroes is where they all meet and remember all they went through on those days, a comfy and warmth place: the local pub!!!!!
