Reveal: Trumpeter 1/72 F-100F Super Sabre "Wild Weasel" upd.

Post by LudvigN »

EDIT: I wasnt happy with the photos I posted in the first version of the reveal. The lighting was bad, the white balance was off and a majority of the pictures were over exposed. I waited for a better day and took new photos which are a lot better in my opinion. Enjoy!

First of all, here is the WIP thread

My eight build was my best build so far if I can say so myself. The kit worked out nicely, I also had a lot of firsts during this build. One of the good things about this build was all the information I was able to pick up about the subject. Gives the build a whole other dimension as a modeller. I decided to do a video reveal aswell, and that's also a first. Actually, it's my first ever video, so it might contain some rookie mistakes.

Video reveal/summary:

The Kit:

+ Decent fit
+ Very nice detail in some areas, like the wheel wells and the cockpit
+ Best canopy ive seen in 1/72nd scale.
+ Nice and detailed construction of the wings.
+ Alot of parts
+ No flash

- Decals, the silver alot
- Inaccuracies in the cockpit
- Lack of ordnance (smoke rockets)
- No open-canopy option
- Not very explanatory color call outs
- Seam lines

Cheers to everyone who followed and left feedback in the WIP thread, it helped me improve my modelling skills. Until next time,

cheers :cheers2:

Amazing finish mate! A shame I didn't find the build thread until you had almost finished it  . I read through it all and drooled over all the pictures (besides for what happened with the white tack masking :) ). You have made a damn good model there sir and I would be proud to make something even a fraction of how good that is.

Thanks! The white tack problem came as a surprise for me as I thought that crap only happened with blue tac, but I guess you learn stuff every day!

Great finish Ludvig. :thumb1:

Seeing as you are the first Wild Weasel to finish, you get the job of Weasel lead.

Really like the heat effects on the tail. From the little I know, the Super Sabre was famous (infamous)? for it.
