Revell 03099 1/35 German Staff Car Admiral Cabriolet-In Box

Post by Bassman »

I posted this originally on another Forum.

Well, the box, the contents of which originate from ICM...

First the instructions. The kit gives four decal choices, but there is also the possibility of doing a non-military variation (I found some pictures on the net). So here are some relevant pages from the instructions, including the colours section...

Next up are the coloured plastic sprues. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the sprues come in a resealable bag.

The model comes with full chassis detail (as can be seen from the following sprue shot) including engine so there is plenty of scope for some extra detailing. You have the option of displaying the model with the roof open or closed. The majority of this sprue contains the parts that go to make up the chassis. There was a small amount of scuffing on the boot/trunk lid. Nothing insurmountable though.

These sprues mostly contain the wheel parts and also the open roof parts. The wheels/tyres (as can be seen) are made up of a number of disks, which ought to give a reasonable representation of tread, given the scale.

The final coloured sprue contains the remainder of the body and interior parts. It would not be a huge task with some cutting to display the model with the doors open.

Finally the transparencies which are bagged seaparately and in a good quality bag to protect the contents.

ICM do the same kit in 1/24 scale with chrome parts.
