vallejo primer problem

Post by MarkVerploeg »

hi guys
i have a bit of a problem or question regarding the vallejo primers
i have 2 of them at the moment the black and the grey
and i use a airbrush to apply them and here i have 2 aswell
i use a h&s evolution and a cheap one of wich i don't remember the brand
now the point is that i was being a idiot and i put the primer in the evo
the black primer that is and this worked out just fine
altough.it was a bit of a pain to clean the airbrush but then i used the grey and it clogged the.nozzle in about 2 seconds so the big question is how to avoid this
i used the black primer again this time in the cheap airbrush wich is easyer to clean aswell so this now gets the job
but i don't understand what caused this and should i keep the grey primer
so ig you know please lend me a hand
thanks for your time
cheers Mark

Get your self some ak/ammo primer and you wont have this problem, vallejo primer can just be too finicky to ab and with the risk of peeling and pulling off when sanding and masking, ak/ammo primer is much more reliable.

postage depends on yhe total amount of the purchase as with most dealers
but i order several things at a time and that gets me to pay 100-150 euro so postage is a small amount then or free
but postage still beats driving there my self
as for the cleaner it did work when i tested it but that was a small amount as.it was a borrowed bottle of primer
but just to make sure i got me some ak cleaner aswell (plus where i ordered the cleaner they ran out of vallejo cleaner)
but i will have to get back to you about that as all the stuff i bought comes in during this week
cheers Mark

Thanks Mark,

Off course I can also order the AK cleaner, but then what does this do with the Vallejo paint?
Trying to keep it simple with all the different cleaners and thinners.

Btw, I just found it here

Can this be used with all acryllic paints?
Even paints like Tamiya (alcohol based I think)?

the people at Ultimate (Lee and Paul) make it to go with all acryllic paints
but i don't have that
as for the site you posted , i forgot about them it used to be the shop from Mol modelbouw but he stopped and a belgium company took over
they messed things up in my opinion with.things like payment and the site in general wich was easy to find things
and when mol didn't have things in stock he would order them for you
i didn't had that service after he quit as i got a mail saying that the things i was looking for where not in the assortment and thus not availible at all
but that was a few years back and they could have changed
but i kind of like the german shops as they have better prices and the sales sections offer real bargains
so i use their shops in stead
