Airfix 1/48 Harrier GR3

Post by chief5437 »

Hi guys, here's my gr3 done.
Old kit with a LOT of alterations/additions with help from the harriersig website.

I've finished it as a gr3 during the Falklands conflict, displayed on a temp airstrip at San Carlos Forward Operating Base.

Some interesting history of the deployment of this FOB can be found here, http://www.thinkdefence.co.uk/2012/04/h ... d-islands/

So here's my pics anyway, thanks for looking guys!

Can you spot my deliberate mistake on the decals?! Lol! Shhh!

Thanks for looking guys.

That is a truely magnificent looking Harrier. Forgive my current ignorance (just returning to the hobby) but is that a new tool from Airfix?

Regards Dave.

Thanks Dave, unfortunately it's not a new tool, hence all the changes I had to make. Maybe now Airfix have new tool harriers in 1/72 they might scale them up to 1/48.

Very nice work there. Nice weathering job, and absolutely love the base you have made.

That base just magnifies all the hard work you put into your model.:
