Trick or treaters - issues with.

Post by RangerNeil »

Anyone else had issues with "Trick or Treaters"? We had some dire ones last year, kids in their early teens who thought causing real damage to property/vehicles appropriate. Bearing in mind this is a US thing that suddenly gained traction over here we don't have issues and usually dispense goodies to little kids but last year the final lot were much older and as we'd run out of goodies they sliced valves off wheels and keyed paint work.
So this year, me being your average easy going psychpathic slice of evil, I decided the older ones would get a trick themselves. Once the young ones had been around with their mums it was time for plan A.
We watched what was happening through the Ring video door bell and when the older ones started coming round we turned off all the lights but those in the conservatory so it was obvious someone was home. The trap thus baited I changed clothes and waited. Not for long as the bell got rung multiple times.
Remembering that it is now very dark inside and out the gathered mob of brats were treated to the front door swinging open outwards silently making them step back and as it opened it revealed, framed against the pitch black hallway, a figure clad in a white mediaeval cloak, the hood pulled up hiding the face initially until the opening door allowed what little light there was to reflect off the steel covering the face whilst two mail clad hands rested on a bare longswords pommel. Not a word spoken. There was a series of frightened screams and I swear to god at least two bathroom "incidents" before they got out the front gate. I don't think that lot will be back again.....
Mediaeval living history can come in handy at times.
