Meng Panzer V Panther!

Post by aur0ra145 »

Howdy folks,

Been away from the bench a bit and almost missed the annual egg build.

Any who, here is the Meng Panzer V Panther. It's a cool little kit that is of the "press fit" type, sorta like Bandai. Overall, I assembled the hull in one sitting tonight. I need to wait for the glue to dry on some of the bits, then it's off for priming.

I'm currently looking for some bunny ears to 3d print.

I've been away as I've started trying my hand in figure painting, using Warhammer 40k as the model. It's.... a bit addicting to paint up these little models. I don't really have an interest in playing, but, I think the models are cool.

Pictured are the Tau starter box dudes I've finished so far.

Primed!

Lots of priming actually. Haven't decided on a color or scheme yet. Though I did find a bunny hat.

Cheeky little Panther and the figures are very cool too.
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Did a bit more work. The Panther is primed in yellow.

I also, did some good work with the Tau, got two more Firewarriors done, plus 6 drones. Drones were air brushed, the figures were hand brush painted, then a wash from Vallejo. I think I like them because with about 2+ hours of work, I can finish one put it on the shelf.

I'm quickly realizing how utilitarian brush painting can be. The wet palette I'm using is a heavy hitter in awesomeness for brush painting.

Got the wheels and tracks on. This one was about 1000x easier to get the tracks and wheels on than the Sherman and Tiger I've done in the past.

Next up will be camo and then brush painting the tools. The extra tracks were painted seperately.

Stuff used so far:

Ultimate Black Matte Primer
XF-88 Dark Yellow 2
MMP MMW-001 Dark Rust 1

I haven't decided if I want to go with pastel camo stripes or just normal Red Brown and Olive Green.

I also have a little bunny hat to put on it when it's all said and done. So maybe pastels?

Cheers!

In other news, I'm 3d printing a ton of terrain for this 40k fad I'm going through.
