Hobby Boss 1/35 King Tiger - Final reveal

Post by Gary30 »

Finally got this one completed, didn’t go too heavy on the weathering in the end, there is already a lot going on visually so it felt as though I’d end up ruining it if I tried to go overboard with the weathering. Anyway, happy how it turned out, first time painting camo and first time attempting zimmerit, so my skills have improved again, all good! Nice kit, great value for money, would definitely recommend.

Very nice Gary,
Good job on the zimmerit, the camouflage and the weathering and mud effects.

Brilliant work. Superb effort on the Zim and the paintwork and weathering really shows it off.
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Thanks for the kind words guys! No it’s actually my third armour build, I’ve built a Sherman and a Mk1 Whippet before, but they were just olive drab base, no camo or zim, so I was happy with how the Tiger came out. I’ve got loads more armour in the stash too so I’m looking forward to getting stuck into some more builds next year.

great job Gary, you should be really pleased with the zim but I think its the work you put into the tools, cables etc that really make it look the biz!  :

Great work Gary - the others have already said it but the effort you put into the zimmerit has really paid off in spades.

And the camo pattern is spot on as well - cracking job mate    :cheers2:
