Vietnam diorama "Soviet activity Vietnam 1968"

Post by XVI »

Hi all, finally i can join GB i hope school and student on exchange will let me to finish my work :).
Always when someone says Cold war first what comes on my mind are: secret missions, spies, Vietnam, arms race.....
So i came on idea for little diorama, like Soviet solder talks to vietcong soldiers in hut on ridge in jungle and down them by stream some US commandos sneaking.
The fact is that in Vietnam served 3000 Soviet solders like advisors and 16 of them died in far land jungles.
There isnt a record (at least I have not found) that Soviet soldiers and US soldiers had face to face fight exept in Call of duty black ops that also inspired me little bit :P.

I hope that is all i wanted to say about this intresting subject (at least for me).

Here are photos of sets

Great idea for a dio! You could have one of the marines as Carlos Hathcock.

Great idea for a diorama. I think Dragon has a Russian Naval Infantrymen set that might be better for the diorama, but nonetheless this will be a great idea!!!

Hi all, thanks for comments and sorry that you need to wait so much to see first update. I have so much work and this what i do 3 days ago, since then i didnt do nothing, maybe i will do something this weekend and then next weekend because during this week i will have student on exchange.

chief5437- Thanks for tip that i can do one marine like Carlos Hathcock.
I am not such big (good) scratch builder, but i seen once i think it was BRAVO 6 figure of sniper that lookd like Carlos Hathcock but it was expencive.

NovYank- Dragon Russian Naval Infantrymen figures could go if i am doing fighting scene but this will be peaceful scene.

Nothing special just legs glued and filled with putty.
And now pictures

Agree, nice job with the filer :th:
I use liquid filler from mister hobby for my figures, it runs in the seems and saves me a lot of sanding.

Good luck, and I think it's going to be awesome!
