Hey Nathan
I just finished a Korean MASH helicopter...bad timing
Maybe do your suggestion into the long thread:
viewtopic.php?f=51&t=27972

Thinking we give it the month of January and do a vote
Don’t get discouraged if your idea doesn’t jump on right away...time works wonders.

Very interesting, I don't think I've ever built anything from the Korean War  :th:

Lots of subjects out there kits wise. Late war fighters like the Spit and Mustang with Korea decals. Then the early jets like the Sabre and Mig 15. Sure I’ve seen a Korea Sherman from Tamiya, the one with the red teeth on the front. Lots of ideas. Get on to the main post and run the idea up the flag pole Sir 👍
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

This sounds like a great idea! The 70th anniversary of the Korean War is a perfect excuse to dive into some interesting builds. The variety of vehicles from that time is pretty fascinating, and I'd love to see what others come up with. I’m thinking of joining too, but not sure if I’ll have enough time to finish a build before the deadline.

This one never got off the ground I believe. Perhaps we should reconsider it in light of the anniversary?

Yeah sure I'd do that.
I have a Mash type chopper and some Dodge light trucks. Still trying to locate the archer decals for the Dodge's....as scarce as hen's teeth.

Go for it guys, start one up. There is nothing planned for January so that would be perfect.
Ask Matthew and he can open a thread for it

I may be late, but this is what I'm building for the Korean War Group Build, by Hasegawa in 1/72.

    Image

NOTE: This is not my normal scale, topic, period, etc. but that should be what wakes this one fun... (I hope).

    Here's the story from Wikipedia:

The Grumman F9F Panther is an early carrier-based jet fighter designed and produced by the American aircraft manufacturer Grumman. It was the first jet-powered fighter aircraft to see air-to-air combat with the United States Navy as well as being Grumman’s first jet fighter.

The Panther was used extensively by the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps in the Korean War. On 3 July 1950, a F9F-3 recorded the first U.S. Navy air victory of the conflict, having shot down a propeller-powered Yak-9. In the Korean theatre, Panther pilots cumulatively claimed the shooting down of seven Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15s.

The Panther was also the first jet aircraft used by the Blue Angels aerobatics demonstration team, being flown in this capacity from 1949 through to late 1954. Future astronauts Neil Armstrong and John Glenn both flew the F9F extensively during the Korean War.
