Wow - I remember you talking about this one a couple of years ago so it's been lurking in the stash for a while!

Great to see it finally dug out - will be watching with interest what you've got in mind for this one. :pop:

Ah... another childhood favorite. I actually grew up in the Hudson Valley not too far from Sleepy Hollow and even closer to Kinderhook where Washington Irving met the schoolteacher that he modeled Ichabod Crane after. In fact, one of our rival high schools was Ichabod Crane High in Kinderhook.

I still remember driving through that area as a kid during Halloween with our heads on a swivel... Never saw the Headless Horseman though...

Isn't that cool.
I grew up about as far North/West as you can get from that location, but have watched the Disney version of the story since I was a little blonde speck.
You never realize that there IS a real place and real people behind the stories legends

Then opened up the nostrils and mouth of the horse and tested different red LEd’s...the two prong ones that win out are shown
Next is eyes

Amazing how much one can tell about someone by looking ‘around’ their subject in a photo.

Case in point, I am in the big boy workshop (woodworking etc Shop) finishing and framing an Intarsia fish for my little niece.

You can see the coffee mug with your either late or coffee with cream, I see a hand made coffee cup holding pens & dividers, metal shears or tin snips, stainless top on the desk top. Another project to the left. Cannot tell what is under to dark in the shot.... how is that:)

Have a lovely case of man flu on me now, missed a day of work and will have to slog through the rest of the week sick
Got a couple of hours of feeling coherent and decided to model.
The pumpkins got primed and painted orange inside and here one is tested with an led through the base

Image

Then decided to make glowing bloody hoove prints, so opened up a couple and tried a red fabric and led
Image

Then Microscale clear and some clear red...see what that looks dried up
Image

Medicated now and off to bed

My wife had other plans for the night so she kept bugging me to find someone to take to the game. Of course I never got around to it. Finally on Friday I realized the game was in Salt Lake City! Good thing I didn’t invite a friend, we would have had a very long drive!

But, I did catch the game on TV. Really kept the goal judges busy in that one! Kings are trying to play a more up tempo, aggressive style. When it works, it fun to watch. When there’s a mistake, yikes! I guess I’m gonna have to get used to high scoring games!

I got a smaller stand LED set on Amazon it is USB plug in powered.

It will work well for the red on the base. I can also make it cycle and flash different colours for Halloween display

So I got the soldering iron out Saturday and got the wiring lines done for the spooky tree
Shrink wrapped the leads to insulate and strengthen them, plus it makes a tidier arrangement
Image

Important to have a ‘heat sink’ for the LED so you don’t fry it when you solder...yes, been there done that. That is what the alligator clip is doing there
Image

Image

Image

Switched over to silver duct tape as the plastic in this kit is weird and slightly slimy, so the 3M blue tape doesn’t stick reliably
