ICM 1/48 Spitfire <Beer Delivery>

Post by oldnovice »

Good morning,

Now that my Missouri is on the back burner, and while I wait for the Tamiya Spit to arrive, I picked up this wee kit to try some new (to me) mediums.

For a tenner, this is a great little kit. For the scale, it has some nice detail, sharp panelines and some riveting detail.

I've already made a start on this, although I can't do too much as I am still awaiting a few deliveries. So I started midway through on the cockpit. Even this I can't do too much yet.

Started with the seat frame and bullet shield.

The holes in the frame were just recessed, so I drilled those ones out. I didn't add any of the others though. I also tried to sand out that pin mark, although it was sunken can would have been better to fill.

I assembled those 3 together then took a look at the seat, which needed a little clean up.

And the base of the cocckpit and rudder pedals, and flight stick.

After I got everything ready, I primed with Ultimate grey primer, then gave a coat of Tamiya Black X1, 50/50 mix with X20a, ready to have some Alclad2 Aluminium.

That's pretty much all I can do so far. I will coat with the Alclad2, but then will have to wait until my chipping fluid arrives, which hopefully should be later today or tomorrow...

Thanks :D
