Hi everyone,
I'm shopping for aftermarket parts for my next project. The kit I have is nicely detailed, but I was wondering if self-adhesive PE surface panels we're something worth adding...Never saw a finish product with them. Only pictures on Eduard's site where you see it before the painting stage.

Re: SA PE surface panels
Depends on what kit and what is available for it
The PE I have done is fantastic, a bit fiddly requiring some bending and such but it does increase the detail and realism
Self adhesive will just have a sticky back so easier to cut off the sprue..it wont ping and go flying to be lost forever.
For say an instrument panel on an aircraft, the PE can look fabulous
Some PE I chose not to use as I would have had to destroy perfectly good details to fit the PE in place..more work than worth
So my message is shop carefully, look for a good deal and ask yourself if you will use it
Cheers

Re: SA PE surface panels
It depends on yourself - I personally think PE really adds to the overall model, but as Twokidsnosleep say, some isn't worth the effort
Personally, I really dislike the selfadhesive PE, I find it makes it more difficult to work with and I still feel the need to add glue before sticking to the model anyway, so actually pointless.

I have done PE on a helicopter where you open a door and it has the stairs and handle and such. Very cool effect.Garion77 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2018 9:08 pmThanks again ! Often you can scratch build things from wires and things lying around the house and get pretty good realism too
That is why I suggest be selective
