So first of we prepped the base by putting some PVA in there to make it a little more secure..

ImageIMG_1686 by Karl Smith, on Flickr

Once this was completed I went and modified the 2 figures that were included in the kit.

ImageIMG_1691 by Karl Smith, on Flickr

And of course the R5 unit to go with them

Next up was the test fitting of the pieces.

So I have wrapped the sections in Clingfilm to stop them getting contaminated

ImageIMG_1689 by Karl Smith, on Flickr

I have then masked of the picture frame and done some dry fitting

ImageIMG_1697 by Karl Smith, on Flickr

This last pic shows the R5 guarding his fallen comrades..

ImageIMG_1698 by Karl Smith, on Flickr

So next up is getting the filler in..

I am liking the diorama idea
You could do a little orange light and have fire in there too :shifty:

Watched Rogue1 on the weekend for the first time....meh,slow start, lots of action at the end. Really a tie together film, but still entertaining.
Will watch it again for all the little nerd nuances that are embedded in there.
How did they not film the Star Destroyer crashing into the sand>>>WTH!!!!

I dont get this.

I spilled tet all over my Naboo, turned it into a disaster and found one and still going to try and finish it to make it look like its flying.

You built an awesome vehicle that looks awesome and you are turning it into a disaster?

:wtf:

Do you want to borrow my lighter?

HAHA, no you didnt read my reply after that! :D I have two now.

But really Karl, I guess when that ship costs over 30 bucks (not including shipping) I would just finish that Dio with a nice landing (flyby or a low hover), some cool weathering and some trees and such. Yea, ok I am cheap with my kits and know you guys can afford alot, but lately Im having problems just affording new glue. But stepping on it and making a 40 dollar model look better with some rocks is not something I would do. Just saying it like it is I guess.
IMHO

I know in the end it will look cool tho. :thumb2:
