
Actual kit is reboxed M60 with new sprues for the Magach 6B. Magach 6B Gal was fitted with 4th generation passive armor and 908 hp engine. The turret has angled sides and angled mantlet. This variant is sometimes unofficially referred to as Magach 7D or Magach 8. A limited number of vehicles were converted from the Magach 6B Gal variant.
There were 1400 pcs of M60s sold to Israel by West Germany and majority of them undertake the upgrading process to survive better on the battlefield.
Magach tanks were present at the operational units till the 2006 and from then all of them were replaced by Merkava tanks.
In July 2015 Israel confirmed, that part of the tanks were rebuild into new missile carrier Pereh.
