Chiefs Kinetic 1/48 Sea Harrier FA2

Post by chief5437 »

Hi guys :th:
Had a trip to the not so local hobby shop today, and got this.

Image

My first Kinetic build, so fingers crossed :shifty: I thought there'd be more harriers in here, thankfully there's only one other in 48 so far, so hopefully you won't get sick of seeing them!

In the box... Quite a lot of plastic

Image

Instructions, all in landscape. Black and white, and quite busy, but should suffice.

Image

Decals. Very glossy and quite thick. Printed by cartograph, so should be ok, fingers crossed (again)

Image

Not sure what scheme I'm going for yet, decals are provided for all the 800 sqn aircraft, so I'll have to do some research first and see what catches my eye.

That's it for now, cheers. :cheers2:

can you ever get sick of seeing harriers, I don't think so :th:
like the scheme on the box but that huge decal on the wing is kinda scary
will be fun to see how the two kits compare

Harrier is like a Spitfire or Hurricane. You just can't get too many of them. :) Always a sheer pleasure to look at.

Hi fellas :th:

Quick update.

As usual, we start with the cockpit. Just a few pieces stuck together. These will all be primed and painted before assembly.

Image

Also added some detail to the cockpit sidewalls. Not accurate but adds interest. Might be a waste of time as I'm hoping to find a pilot for this, so probably won't be seen. I really wish kits would come with pilots as standard, just to have the option.

That's it for now, time for some Ultimate primer :thumb1:

I totally agree on the pilot being included
Or at least carry consistent aftermarket pilot and ground crew figures for the era of aircraft
