Darwin's Airfix 1/48 Ju-87 B-1 Stuka

Post by LM951 »

Well I did it. I completed my first S.I.G.! Even after switching kits midway through due to fitment issues and frustrations...I told myself that I was going to finish my first S.I.G.

May I present to you, my version of the Airfix 1/48 Stuka. I stole the paint scheme from the Tamiya/Italeri B-2 Stuka that I had previously. I really liked the yellow nose and rudder. I also used the Swastikas from that kit since the Airfix one didn't contain any. I also used the photoetch seat belts that came with it since the Airfix also didn't have those...

Please let me know what you guys think! Critique is always welcome as I'm always down to learn from you guys that have built way more kits than I!

Great Stuka mate, well done. :th: If I may, my only suggestion would be to knock the glossy finish back a touch otherwise excellent work.

Great build, nothing wrong with that. The only thing i would have done as Steve says, is use a flatter final varnish as it looks a bit shiny (although that might be the way you photographed it) and I would run an aerial line from the mast to the tailplane. 30 seconds work that really puts the finishing touch to a WWII model.
Regards, Dave.
