1/48 Lockheed PV-1 Ventura

Post by wally »

Hello All

My second entry to the Multi Engine Bomber SIG. This time proper twin engine design Lockheed PV-1 Ventura from Revell in 1/48 scale. For this build I will be using lot of after market goodies such as resin engines and exhaust from QuickBoost, resin cockpit and corrected propellers from True Detail and also resin wheels and some PE part for the cockpit from Eduard. I have plan to use box decals but not decided yet witch one.
This is the kit:

Today I started from the cockpit trying to fit resin parts. So stay tuned :th:

Hello All

During last week I start working on my Ventura project. As always I started with the cockpit fitting inside the resin parts. I have to say the came beautifully. No major issue with the fit. I the mean time I also prepare all cockpit kit parts to start painting inside using Gunze H70 Interior Green

Then I start painting inside first Interior Green fallow by various diffrent colors like black, metalic grey and red white yellow for the buttons.
For the instrument panel I used PE parts from Eduard. After all parts being painted I gloss coated everything before wash.

That's it for now next progress should be very shortly.

Hello again Folks

This time quick update on my Ventura build. From the last time I push heavy with the construction. I close the fuselage and start working on the wings.
The tail was also added.

And this is after assembling the wings. Everything goes together with no real problems. Fit is excellent.

That's it for now. Next I will focus on the engines and nacelles for them. Till next time.
Cheers

Looking excellent so far! Ive definitely picked up an affinity for all lockheed aircraft. I can see from my office building where the lockheed headquarters, skunkworks and factory once stood.
