Welp, calling it done on my first GB entry

As a former lurker it's been really nice being part of one instead of just watching from the sidelines and everyone else's builds have been fantastic. As for mine the build went together pretty nicely, if a bit fiddly in places, though working with this much PE in 1/72nd scale provided some pretty valuable experience. The paint job ended up a bit meh, painting has never really been my strong suit but to me it's all about trying new things or variations and improving along the way. In this case it's one of those "an airbrush would make it easier" camouflages as achieving faded edges is kinda difficult with a brush. Weathering may be a tad heavy in places bit in general it looks pretty good and brought out the detail from all those tiny PE parts pretty well. The base went well and is quite handy when it comes to handling the model without snapping anything off (and believe me that happened A LOT, particularly with the schurzen mounts

). On to the pics I guess.
The original kit

As a reminder of the size of this thing, that's a 1cm grid and regular knife

And as a matter of contrast here's a Hasegawa one I guilt years ago, apparently young me decided using a halogen lamp positioned about 10cm away to speed up the paint drying process was a good idea.

And last one
