Scale Model Challenge 2015

Hi guys
So this could be intresting for the Dutch members but i think for those living in Belgium and some from Germany
On the 11th of October the SMC will be held in Veldhoven , The Netherlands
It is one of the best modelling shows our country has to offer
Last year i had the plessure to meet some of the members from ISM and even had to compete with 2 of them in the competion that is being held at the same day
So i would like to know who is going this year
Since last year i have spotted several new members from the Netherlands so maybe this year we will be there with a even larger group
Like last year i want to enter the competion but i will make a seperate topic for that bit
So here is the link to the shows website where you can learn more about it if i have managed to spark your intrest
http://www.google.nl/url?sa=t&source=we ... OO0gK9NqqA
It will redirect you but there is a proper link in there
And maybe i will see some of you in Veldhoven in a few weeks
Cheers Mark

Not 100 % sure, but I'm trying to be present.
Only in the morning to buy empty the traders section.... lol This has to do that I'm in the middle of my move.
I'm not competing this year with pain in my heart.
But there's always next year. :thumb2:
So no competition from me this year.
Beware for next year though., for im going for gold...

Should i ask Seb to take his truck with him next year
You already took 11 builds with you last year so w years of building time should mean a double amount of entries

I had only 7 entries planed for this year.
at least twice as much next year....
so yeah.... I think that would be a good idea!

There is a beginners class in most subjects
I plan to participate in the beginners class for military vehicles
And diorama's but i am.not sure it that will have a beginners class
You can stay in the same class untill you manage to get a gold medal
I entered for the first time last year and managed to pick up a bronze medal but there is no shame if you don't win anything
In fact i wasn't counting on winning anything as the overall skill level is pretty high at the SMC there are several builders that compete in international contest
Those guys stay in the master level classes though

Hi guys,

I'll be there and entering with two models.
I'll be wearing my ISM t-shirt so I'll be recognizable as one of this gang.

See you guys there.

Cheers
Han

Now that's cool, would be nice to see the Dutch ISM gang. So far is almost certain that I will be there too.
No entries (had 7 ready to take with me) and only in the morning. I will be wearing ISM gear as well. :thumb2:

hm looks like there are beginner classes for figures and military ground vehicles in 1:48 and bigger, might try to finish either of my 1:35 projects , and I might enter 1/72 military ground vehicle

It is totally up to you ofcourse if you enter the competition
I found the biggest drawback that you have to be there all day as they do the prize from about 17:00 hours
But you have to register your models before 11:00nor 12:00 hours
So a pretty long day but there is lots to see .......and buy

I just checked out the pics you posted on fb for the Waffenträger
That is a great looking build
Are you going to add some figures to it
I did see a box of dragon figure in one of the earlier photo's but not when the build was further to being completed
Anyway i am looking forward to seeing it

I`m not 100% sure about the figures .... i have a couple primed and ready for paint but because i dont have a good crew set for the waffenträger i dont know if i will put some infantry into the dio

Some infantry figures could work
Like the WT is left behind and they just happened to find it
Crew figures can be a pain in the rear to find
They often don't fit the way you want or have the wrong pose for the vehicle
Resin figures can be a solution but those are expensive most of the time

There is nothing decided on that yet Richard
Frans found me last year after i just walked in and he already knew the others that where there
The guys that are in the competion can be found there all day and most likely in the traders section making the same round several times
I know i will probably be there later then most as i have to work late the day before
But i think i have to be there before 12 o clock as the sign up stops at that time
But we can try to pick a place and time
I just don't know what the others are planning though

Thank you very much Coen
That is why i now stop buying kits
I still have 2 that should arrive soon and then i really have too many kits
Most are kits i don't see that often so i get them when i see them just to make sure i actually have the kits i want
I have gotten 9 kits today and even 12 considering the Royal class is made up from 4 little MiG's but it is 1 box
