As an idea to thin the flying planes' supports, could clear sprue be heated and stretched while still staying strong and clear ??
I might have to try that out and see

About the supports , was the best I can imagine just now , about the heat If we heat grey plastic always become black and burnt ...really do not know on clear but should be the same result ...but didn't even try it ...
