That looks really nice and neat. Looks also to be a well light room.
But aren't those compressors a bit loud?

Awesome man-cave/shed! Nice work on the internals, I like the cupboard space you've created.
I'm in the throes of trying to clean out our garden shed/dumping-ground to set it up as an outside modelling area.

Just remember to bring your paints and glues in if you live where winter hits , they can freeze and spoil, ask me how I know lol, moved to Far East now not a problem , ps decals also don't like fluctuations in temp, I had a so called greenhouse heater running constantly , all properly lagged with loft insulation between shed wall and tongue n groove inside , enjoy the man cave

Before I was married used an off cut off 18mm foamex about 800mm square on the kitchen table and all paint and tools was kept in a tool box. I spent many a happy hour there, but as things move on you needed a computer to research and check out the great wealth of info on the web and then came the airbrush and compressor. When I got married my incredible wife she suggested I made a space for me and this is what happened, like I say it is a shed so at times the models go away and the drills come out but still it's my own space. So many great caves, work spaces and sheds on this thread and great to see the hobby is very much alive and well here. All I have to do now is finish the next deadline at work and then I can sneak off to the shed...

So with getting more paints and weathering products i had to have a move around in the cave. Ive recently sold off my xtracrylix and vallejo model air and replaced them with Akan and Ammo paints, also added a few Lifecolor sets and some loose colours too.
I spent today modifying my existing racks to hold the new paints, basically reducing the height between each shelf to allow more shelves to be added. The main one was the one that is directly in front of me, it now holds 80% of my weathering stuff as well as the Mr hobby aqueous paints etc. The citadel now run around the base of the racking by the Macbook. I think I'm pretty much set for paints and weathering materials.
And a cool panoramic shot of the cave

Wanted to do the "Paul mod" to my workbench today, i.e add some shelves, put the weathering stuff and finishing stuff handy (Abt oils, washes etc etc) and clear the desk of all the extraneous stuff.
But no, wifey had to work so I was stuck babysitting all day. You should get paid for that!

I emptied the drawer in my desk of all the crap that has built up in there over the years and have now put all my Vallejo and Lifecolour paints in there alongside my Ultimate washes and AMMO weathering products. I have then been able to shift my few Tamiya paints, primers and odds n sods into a small basket in the place where the Vallejo paints were, freeing up some space on the desk.

So I did a mini-Paul update to my work area yesterday (no time on the weekend!)
Added a couple of new shelves (unpainted) and de-cluttered the main area. I didnt like having the Alclads so high and the washes and fillers out of reach.
Oh and I found a way to use up all my business cards too!

- SAM_0579.JPG (164.25 KiB) Viewed 13304 times
Next I converted a tiny bookshelf that held my 1/72 models into a "stores" box, and re arranged my tools etc below (need to label the drawers next):

- SAM_0580.JPG (133.4 KiB) Viewed 13304 times
And I finally got around to restoring the last of 3 bookshelves I was given for free. These went through the floods a couple years back, but after some sanding back and staining come up ok. The best ones are in my living room, this one was cluttering up my shed, which I just revamped, so now its in the office as my new display shelf and place to put works in progress.

I think I'll have to start building some more paint shelves, might go and get some Mr Hobby paints and some Mig colors (just bought some and so far, very nice).

I don't have the space to put up a wall rack like that for my paints, although I am getting to the point where I need one. Issue I have is that I live in a rented flat as well, so can't go sticking things to the walls.

Some very impressive mancaves!
I'm about to start work on my own.
I'm moving everything out of my 10' x 6' shed into a new 6' x 4' (base goes down this weekend!), I'm then going to insulate & panel the walls & use 2 Wickes cheapo kitchen worktops for my workbench, fortunately it already has power so that's one thing I don't have to worry about.
I'll post some before, during & after photos!

After several months of reno's to the new house I've finally been rewarded with my dedicated modelling room

. It's still a work in progress, but I've been able set things up enough to start gluing things again.
The primary build table with new paint rack...I just stained it two days ago and put the paints in last night. The computer's hooked up to a 32 inch monitor and plays mostly ISM and Paul's eModels YouTube videos while I'm building.
The second table is for when my son is building at the same time as I am and otherwise is a safe place to set things to let glue dry while I press on to the next step.

The white shelf on top is being replaced by another new paint rack that's still under construction. The white thing on top of the old metal desk at right is my homemade paint booth that I've been using for the last 7-8 years (it direct vents out the window when the hose is attached to a wooden blank with a clothes dryer wall cap). It worked fairly well but is also being replaced by a new homemade table-top unit that I'm building with inspiration from the units that Lee and Paul use. The desk is going to be re-tasked to hold my newly built photo booth on the other side of the room (where I was standing when I took the photo's actually).
Still a ways to go until it's finished, but it's great to get it this far and start fondling plastic again!
Cheers,

Reorganized workspace. What you can't see is the Acer netbook on the far right, I'll be using that as my reference computer. It has Ubuntu on it now but I'll be reinstalling Windows 7 (which it originally had) this weekend. The touchpad is just too clucky with Ubuntu.

That is a great start HAVOC.And if you are like most modellers you will have 20 paint racks put up in about a month
