Not technically delivered by the postman but I picked these up at the East Midlands Model Show this morning.

Image
Image

Both were an absolute steal at £25. The Tiger has tons of goodies including a metal barrel, magic tracks, brass ammo, PE and metal tow cables. The 88 was just as good with ammo boxes, brass shells, and 2 different metal barrels! Both also came with the figures shown on the boxes, paratroopers for the Tiger and the artillery crew for the 88.

I'm still gobsmacked.
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Goddamned I'm tired!

I've gotten myself the haul from hell today.

First, I went to the DHL pickup-point to collect my first airbrush/compressor kit: A Harder & Steenbeck Evolution Silverline and a Sparmax TC-620X. But no airbrush without a spraybooth, so I had that one picked up as well.

However, I can't put the spraybooth onto thin air, so I went to Ikea to get myself a Micke desk (it's not only heavy, the box is about a cm shorter than I can safely carry) and top. And you know about Ikea - can't enter without leaving with some unplanned stuff, too, so I found myself with a bag of assorted "useful" stuff. No napkins or candles this time, though!
I guess todays haul totalled at some €800 or so... :jd: All in order to paint some $25 plastic models ... ;)

Seems like the old peepers need a bit of help with smaller detail...so a nice person from China, sent me this!

Damn good quality and only cost a fiver! (EBay)

Lenses are really clear

Finally!

I actually got this haul from hell last weekend, but due to GF-time, I haven't unpacket and installed it until today:

* Harder & Steenbeck Evolution Silverline airbrush
* Sparmax TC-620 compressor
* Panzag spray booth
* Vallejo airbrush cleaner and a few missing paints
... and to have something to put it all on:
* IKEA Micke desk and top.

It all got quite nifty, although the spray booth is exactly as deep as the desk ==> almost no place for the exhaust air to leave. But, what the heck! :D

Does the compressor bounce around in the cabinet?? Mine seems to take a walk across the table looking to jump to its death after a long session of painting

I don't know yet. I've just started it for 1 minute to verify that it works. The cabinet decreases its noise (which is lower than the spray booth's,. anyway). The compressor doesn't vibrate noticable, and the rubber feet seems to have a good grip. But if it doesn't stand still, I have some really good double-sided tape that would do the trick. Or - in the worst case - I've got a few rolls of silver tape!

Ni problem, I've got a transparent plastic mat (carpet?) under the chair to protect the floor - or prevent it from eating my parts! Speaking of PE, this morning I placed an order for an Eduardo FW190 1:48, which seems to contain PE by default. Going to be a very Interesting build! :-D

Lots of tips and tricks videos on ISM for PE use...just have a look around and research while you wait for your kit to arrive
You will get the hang of it quicker and have less problems

So i went to the TWENOT or DAA modelling meeting and contest last sunday
Not the biggest show in the Netherlands but a still a very nice one as the first meeting of the year always takes place in the Overloon warmuseum
So all the traders and club stands are placed next to the real tanks and armored vehicles
That creates quite a nice setting i think
But as there was a show there has got to be some loot
Not my biggest haul but i still managed to pick up some good and some big kits
Image
Got this as a second hand kit just like the good mornig Da Nang for half of the rrp as the box is some what damaged but the content is just fine

Image
I have a thing with Eduards Limited editions (not all but most of them) and the Draken is quite the exceptional looking plane

Image
I only know about this kit since a recent facebook post
And as it is my favorite and most played tank destroyer in world of tanks i just had to have it
So i asked my "go to" shop if he could put one to the side for me

Image
He also managed to track down one of these for me
They are sold out every where over here
After a little peek in the box it looks like a great kit
The SS-100 looks a bit basic but the V-2 and the Meillerwagen are very nicely detailed and are kits on their own even without the tractor

Image
And my old LHS wich is across the street from the museum is closing
Well the current owner is retiring
So he is having a big sale with very nice discounts
That combined with the discount card i had made this kit pretty cheap compared to the regular price
I actually went for the Schnellboot but he sold that minuted before i got there
Bummer bit this is a really good second choise and it is quite big
Should be good for a diorama

Image
Some new busts

Image
And some paints

And to top of the haul i also managed to pick up
2 golden medals , 2 silver medals and a bronze medal in the competition
So a very good modelling if i do say so myself
On the bench
