I tried the sticky aluminum ducting tape…works ok, you just see the texture if the under surface more
Image
prep the undersurface to flat and problem solved
easy fix tho, I use that tape all the time

Got a small hand held heater to soften styrene and made the rear fenders
The resin printed ones were too small and harder to mount

I got these so that the lower lip clicks into a notch in the frame. So it makes things line up nicely and mechanically hold tight
Redid the rain channels over the doors to have the right curves
Body got another putty fill and fine wet sand, then couple more yellow coats. It is drying now

Nothing but admiration for Scott's build's 'Lots of work to do' means we get to sit back and watch the creativity of what he does. I know we joke about it but its a real tour de force of problem solving along with the use of tools and materials I can only dream about.

Had some success with 3D printing some Engine parts
Lots of clean up still but the scale is correct now. I have to change the manifold and carbs still

Love the dentil of the carbs and the butterfly valve

Another modification this car had was a shorter radiator and grill.
No real precise measurements found so I took 3mm off, the same chop as the roofline.
Used the lower seam in the grill to hide the slice

Coming along nicely !! lots of work again in your project as always. And true it's nice movie ! Without it, there's no Star Wars ! Havent watch it in like 20 years ! Don't know if it's on any platform... I'll check !
Hope your team had a good day at this year's draft ! My team sure made a splash before it started ! But still missing a second center.... :wall:

it's true that the Canucks are a bit ....not exciting... as on my side it's the contrary. And I'm getting interest in it again because of it. And this season Demidov ! can't wait to see him more. Boy was he spectacular in just a few games at the end of the season.

So a bit more on suspension.
Trying to to get the back end up and the nose down

Added styrene shims 3mm in height to rear end above the axle
Image

Then opened up this channel in the front
Image

To let the front suspension sit in further thus lowering it
Image

Ride height test

Must be the day for it, but I've just heard of this new product.
SMS in general gets some good comments and I have bought some of their paint , but are yet to use it.

You can skip most of it and just watch the last 5min.

I quite liked the look of the quad carb set-up - maybe you can do a"what if" build next that uses the quad set-up??

In airbrush news, my trusty little H&S Ultra is spurting air back up the cup, has a dented nose cone and a missing washer and broken air cap.
Been limping it along for a while, but now the air bubbles are bad.
Went to find some parts and everything is obsolete since a 2024 “upgrade” to this brush, no parts made anymore
Luckily I have an Infinity Cr plus whose nose is interchangeable, is also obsolete for parts and is a pain in the azz to clean.
See how long I stay with H&S as I don’t like the new needle design and it’s rear connection and difficulty cleaning
    🙄

Edit: well I ordered a replacement set from maple hobbies in Canada; complete headset and needle
It is for the 2024 version of my brush, but says it fits all eras….we will see

Twokidsnosleep wrote: Sat Jul 19, 2025 2:44 pm In airbrush news, my trusty little H&S Ultra is spurting air back up the cup, has a dented nose cone and a missing washer and broken air cap.
    🙄
Sounds like you're stuck between a rock and a hard place. May be soldier on with the Cr Plus until cleaning it becomes too much of a PITA and I see a nice new shiny airbrush on the horizon....
The CR plus is a lovely girl, beautiful to look at
Sprays like shite and difficult to clean
Don’t buy on just looks…that goes for many things
That really is BS you should be able to buy parts for many years, sadly that is the way with most products these days 10yrs and they stop supporting it.
I had a different H&S brush, but it was a pain to clean quickly too. I went to the Procon boy range and never happier and now own 3. Having said that I haven't had to buy parts for them yet, although I have googled and found parts and none were cheap.
    :cheers2:

Yes I found a nose repair kit and needle that supposedly fits new and old Ultra’s.
We will see what $80 gets me

    Looking good

As for airbrushes, there's always the good old Ultimate Apex. Never had a bad word posted about it.
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

I saw that reflection and at first I thought the paint had reacted and cracked, before I realised it shines so much that everything is reflected.
    Well done.

Except it's US made, handy though parts almost locally available.

I agree. I really like the wider slicks
I will likely make it with movie correct tires as well but keep the big rears too
