Hobby Link Japan have a sale on for 1/72 and 1/48 modern jets with Idolmaster anime paint schemes and decals.
Even if you don't fancy doing some outrageous paint schemes you can always buy some aftermarket decals. I mean where else can you get a Hasegawa 1/48 F-16C kit for £4.50?
(plus p&p). You may need to be careful on what you get though not all of the kits are by Hasegawa. You can see the range here;
