And you're right we are lacking in that genre. Sadly.
Or we could open it out a little bit for a main group build and make it anything Civilian which would include trucks, trains, airliners and ships :th:

I do think that "steele rain" would make a nice GB meaning AAA, SPG or fixed gun positions (105 howitzers and so)

Several suggestions.

How about a GB on less talked about/familiar conflicts. Say:

Falklands GB
Korean war GB
6 day war GB
Suez etc

Maybe a GB based on say Russian military hardware?

Or maybe a group build based on a particular manufacturer's kits?

Just some thoughts.

Miller on that thought, Afghanistan could be a good subject, and it could cover either the 1970/1980 Russian conflict there, or the more recent ISAF conflict.

Plenty of modelling scope for Russian themed things, or modern NATO stuff.

We could do a GB in which your build must be a vehicle which you recently bought, and then came home to find that you already have it in your stash. :D :D :D :D

Battle of Britain - good idea

could add "War in the Pacific", which could include WW2, Korean War, Vietnam

and I had a quirky idea of a build comprising of junk kits and spare parts, not that I have much myself but would follow along with great interest.
Cheers Gav

This is a idea I've been sitting on for a while, would anyone be interested in doing a Special Forces Group Build, from 1/48 scale right up to busts, from World War two to Present day. it can be figures or vehicles both land, sea and air as long as they directly used or connected to SF units

any takers ?

Always thought about a group build for the figure guys out there . Like a conversion GB where the figure or bust is converted from its original to something else. Soon I will be converting a British Para Regt bust to a 1st Can Para bust , not a drastic conversion but that's the idea.

Not sure if this is the sort of thing you guys are looking for. But how about a GB where you can only use the materials provided in the kit.

I've always wondered if there's enough paint provided, glue supplied or indeed the colours even match what they should be.

I can only think of Airfix and Revell who do the 'everything you need' kits but I'm sure there are more and it might serve as a nice 'consumer test' for those of us who wanted to buy presents for our kids/relatives to get them hooked too.

I bet it'd be quite a challenge to get an amazing looking kit without all the fillers, weathering, and varnishes we are so used to.

Just a crazy Friday night idea :)

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread. As you can see by the polls we put most of them to the vote.

I'm going to close this thread as we're all set for GBs for the whole of 2014 now. I'll start a similar thread in October 2014 to get some ideas for 2015s GBs...

Once again, thank you all again for your input and suggestions :th:
