Hi all and thanks for looking...

this is the story so far, it actually goes together reasonably well, there are some microscopic levers in the PE set that I have omitted mostly because I couldn't see them...
I cut off most of the primary internal bits for spraying, I used AK 3rd Gen Black primer and then as it seems the Korean MiGs were grey in the cockpit I used AK RAF Ocean Grey (RC288) mostly because it was close enough and I already had it! the silvery bits are AK Extreme Metal Matte Aluminium (or Aluminum if you prefer... :shifty: )

Image

After which it was add the PE bits which all went on ok and look the part

Image

Image

The cockpit walls are added to the central frame which also has the nose wheel housing included. in the top is where the added weight has to go and there is a section underneath, unfortunately it doesn't say how much on the sheet so its as much as I could get in there.

Image

Image

there are no locating pins for the fuselage, its the cockpit and the jet nacelle that help you but it did require some pushing and pulling as well as clamps and tape. I found it easiest to start at the tail and work forwards.

Image

after that the wings and tail go on, it all needed a little filler here and there and the under nose section was not a great fit for me although it looks ok. I added the underwing attachments for the drop tanks, the instructions didn't make it clear which tanks were for which version so I picked the ones I liked

The undercarriage legs have also been added

Image

Image

I decided to do the canopy open so have taped up the seat and then covered with white tack and shoved a stick up its ....jetpipe for handling purposes :o

Image

the MiG was then primed again with AK Black as well as the drop tanks, canopy and a couple of aerials

Image

Image

more in next weeks exciting episode of.... that geezer from down the road Barton, Special Agent.....! :pistols:

cheers

thanks guys

so for the top coat because I don't have any of the official colours I used the following as best endeavours:
MRP Olive Green RAL6003
MRP RLM65 HellBlau
AK No6 Earth Yellow (RC030)
Tamiya XF79 Linoleum Deck Brown
Alclad Gloss and Matt
Brown Modellers Oilwash for the panel lines

Image

The decals were a bit plasticy and didn't really want to settle in panel lines even with assaulting with Ultimate heavy stuff : but no silvering and very little carriage so the look good. Interestingly there are stencils in the decal set but only for 2 of the 5 versions and mine wasn't one of them   The top wing stars are also not added (and the box art is the same) but they are on the decal sheet if you wish.

As a kit it went together ok for a ham fist like me ad the undercarriage had good slots which helps!! A couple more photos in the reveal section.

cheers all

Nice job ! the camp looks wonderful.
MRP paint are hard to get for me, even almost impossible. But the few bottles I have are to me the best paint.
You did a great job with the different demarcations !
