The campaign is going to be stellar! I hope the MP will be as addicting as Modern Warfare was. I haven't played COD since World at War so I'm pretty sure the arcady feel won't be distasteful. I'm also hoping for a Pacific campaign DLC. That would be awesome!!

Needless to say, I'll be purchasing. :pistols:

For me the bar was set with CoD2, the one where you fight with the Brits in Africa and the Russians before the Brits and Americans in Normandy. The Pointe Du Hoc level was just stunning. I've been to the actual sight in France and its amazing how accurate it is.

The later games had better graphics but I didn't enjoy the 2 later WW2 set games as much. I loved Modern Warfare and its sequels but I thought Black Ops was over-rated and the future set games didn't ring my bell at all.

I enjoy the on-line stuff but I buy the games for the campaigns. There's something about being on a mission (particularly in the historical context) that beats the on-line kill everyone mentality. Also, when you play the campaign you don't have racist 12 year olds screaming at you all the time!

Call of Duty has been treading the same ground over and over since Call of Duty: World at War. I can't get excited over them any more even if they do return to my favorite setting for a game. Doesn't help Activision is one of the worst publishers out there. I just replayed Call of Duty 1 and 2 and I've gotta say, CoD 2 is still in my top 3 games ever. Might still get this one for the single player once the price goes way, way down.

My thoughts exactly!

That's why I stopped buying COD. Was sick of the same, over and over again. But now it has been so long since I've played COD that I don't care if its still the same shooter it practically has always been.

Well its the First of November and WWII is just about here. I'm thinking on getting the Digital Deluxe edition for the Season Pass and other minor goodies. Anybody else getting the Deluxe edition?

I'll be playing on PC. If any of you guys want to play COOP or MP together hit me up on Steam @ xSCAR45

Well I cracked after one youtube review-person I kinda like said it's a really great campaign. Gotta say I found it a bit funny that they had Shermans with hedgerow cutters on D-day. Historical accuracy for the whole game is completely off though, at least they got Shermans instead of M60 Pattons.
My main worry right now is I've been really chewing through the single player missions and it might end up being really short.

Yeah, they bang on about realism but its all nonsense. It looks and sounds amazing though. I like the story side of it but sometimes I want to say, come on, I want to get fighting!

I had some stuttering problems in the campaign that practically killed the experience. I had to lower all my settings to Low in order for the game to play properly. I find that odd since my PC is actually quite good. But if you look around on reviews you'll notice a lot of problems with stability.

Overall I'd say COD WWII had a bad launch. Stability and Server problems riddle this game which is a shame since its rather good and worth the money spent.

I've had some stuttering while playing the single player but I play with most of my settings on high. It's a shame but nothing major, but then I am very tolerant of sub-60 framerates. I tried out the multiplayer but it wasn't very exciting. Getting curbstomped by level 40 players isn't very fun. I'm hoping it will get better with time.

If you are playing on PC then right-click on your Steam shortcut and set Steam to run as Administrator. Fixed my stuttering problems and other glitches so far. Hopefully running it as Admin is the trick. Now I'm playing on Extra and am enjoying the campaign as it should be. 8-)

Haven't played MP yet. Will do after I'm done with the campaign.

Has anyone else spotted a insane amount of mistakes
Don't get me wrong i am enjoying the game but there where a lot of details that caught my eye during the campaign and the multi player that i can only call mistakes
Like the M1928 thompson in a US army soldiers hands
They had M1 Thompsons the UK had those though
Hedgerow cutters on Shermans on D-Day
Various camo schemes that are wrong
Various names of weapons that are just made up even though they are based on actuall guns like the
Karabin wich was a Czech made rifle
The M1941 is the Johnson LMG not the rifle
Machine pistol is the Mauser C98 schnellfeuer

But it has a couple of things that i like
The MG-42 can be turned into a MG-34
The Luger turns in to a Borchard wich was the starting point of the Luger
The M1 Carbine can turn into a folding stock version
But all in all it is a shame to spot so many mistakes in a game that was called one of the biggest releases of the year

Oh qnd by the way if you really want to learn something about most of the weapons in the game you should check out the youtube channel : Forgotten weapon from Ian Maccallum (i think that is his name)
He has a ton of vids on historical guns and shows the mechanics too
I think it is a quite nice reference for some of the weapons we use with our models and figures
Atleast i like to know some of the history behind them

I have to agree with you Mark

Despite all the hype about realism, after the first 2 levels of the campaign I thought they makers were talking out of their behinds! I also don't like the fact that you spend so much time watching what's going on, rather than actually playing the game. For all the emotion in the scripted scenes, its still just a shoot-em-up that looks pretty, not much more.

Its a good game and the graphics are great but lets not call it anything more than that. Also, I played 1 round of multiplayer and got my ass handed to me. Same old story and there's certainly no realism in the multiplayer. Just the usual COD. The only way to survive is to learn the maps playing against AI - or maybe I'm just crap

On a better note, the objective based games look interesting and I really like the look of 'War' where you try to defend or attack a real geographical objective as opposed to just trying to grab a flag.

I'm still glad I bought it but it hasn't knocked my socks off like I hoped it would.

I doubt there are that many kids playing
I tend to turn the player sounds off but usually they sound like adults
I just hope no one is buying their loot crates though
Loot crates are a source of discussion already but now you can buy the things too
In the first month or so you could only earn them
But on the bright side it doesn't make it pay to win as they are only cosmetic changes

In the EU there sure are a ton of kids playing. I've never heard an adult voice in the voice chat.
I would really implore anyone reading this thread to NOT buy into CoD WW2. It's not worth the asking price, nowhere near. I could have eaten for weeks on the money I spent on this!

Also you're absolutely right, there's no historical accuracy to this game at all. It's like they didn't even try. It's kinda fun trying to spot all the mistakes. There are also some youtube videos on all the things that don't make any sense.

I only play in the hardcore mode so maybe that is why i don't hear a lot of kids
I don't like shooting bulletsponges
Well some weapons are accurate but names don't make sense
Like i pointed out with the karabin that is a WZ28 wich is a Czech produced gun
That was used but not by any major combat units
Borderpatrol and police units would receive them so the K98K and G43 would go to the frontline units
Maybe some found their way to the SS as that wasn't part of the army but overall a rare gun comparred to the guns we all know from modelling

I spent a week playing Call of Duty: WWII and it was a blast! The game’s campaign and multiplayer modes capture the intensity of WWII battles. I also tried it with StealthCore COD Cheat, which made things exciting and added a unique twist to the gameplay. Using the cheats was a fun way to experience the game from a different angle, but even without them, COD: WWII is remarkable for its action and immersion. A memorable week!

I've been gone a bit playing video games. I've just built a rifle based on Black Hawk Down. It's a hoot to shoot and a lot of fun. My buddy had a .50 BMG for us to shoot recently and got me way back into the shooting sports/hobby. Nailed my last match and came out on top for pistols.

I'm trying really hard to get back into the service rifle matches I shot about 10 years ago. Very short video from back then shooting at 500 yards with a rifle I built.
