Poe's X- Wing: The Force Awakens

Post by Twokidsnosleep »

Calling her done, quick build of a micro scale Bandai kit.
Sorry my painting not quite up to snuff in my opinion...that will change in the fall and in new workshop
(new photos as Photobucket ruined the others)
These are the inspiration shots

Nicely done. Mind you, Poe will almost certainly get written up for low flying and noise pollution!

Super cool little dio and that backing shot is too much! Makes me want to watch the movie again.

Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Tiny scratch build cannons, tiny water base, huge result. Totally nailed the scene, the drink to inaugurate your long weekend clearly fueled a great little build!

I bit the bullet today and ordered the 1/72 Bandai kit from E Bay

Yes the water was not convincing for someone.
They felt it needed more fine spray look, misty if you will, as mine was too chunky :

Quoting here from two sources

"lovely model, but not utterly convinced by the water though..."

"he might benefit from synthetic stuffing extruded and strategically placed to create the effect of more vaporous clouds, on top of the water turbulence he has already depicted"

That is ok, finer mist was one of my goals for version two, certainly not with styrofoam though, hate that stuff
I am not butt hurt by comments like that, a bit surprised, but have a pretty thick skin.
It just drives me to do version #2 as I wasn't happy with the model, I actually liked the water more than the model
Always room to get better, next version will be a freaking knockout :thumb2:

That's awesome. Honestly if you didn't tell me right away it was cotton it would take me a while to figure that out.

Re-populating the photos is this thread…inspired by my pic of the 3D printed x wings for the Scarif dio
Have to re-shoot my version of Poe’s X wing…it is at work
Image

I might actually take a run at doing this again with more X wings

It was a super cool scene from The Force Awakens
