Hi Dudes.
OK Quick question please. I think I see that the only images that are allowed are linked to Photobucket or similar. No images are allowed to be added direct to the page as an attachment. Is that correct please? Sorry if I missed that in the FAQ or elsewhere.

Would be glad to help my friend. Can you tell me what photo manipulating programs you have please. Paint, photoshop, Corel draw, Picasa? Whatever you use please. Once we have that I (we) can walk you through, step by step.

The best thing to do, if you're using photobucket, is to use the editing tools in photo bucket. it comes with a full editing suite and totally negates having to have your own software on your PC.....

Also when you upload your photos using photo bucket, you can set the size of the pics to be uploaded, chose 800x640 (I think ) as that's the perfect size for the forum.

So I learned (rather painfully) that the pics I upload to ISM have to remain in my photo bucket library. I deleted the library thinking that I didn't need them. Boy, was I surprised when my threads began showing deleted images Oh, the things I am learning

Now this is something I also have found out to.
I am a tightwad and refuse to pay extra money for storage of photos on a site like PB (thay are already Cloud based and on my PC )..
I have though, only recently up-loaded photos to PB and found them there for a short time and then the familiar sign of "This person has moved or deleted images".
No I have fecking not deleted or moved them .
Is their an alternative to PB as I am losing will to live with this site.

I have trouble I think with the adverts and crap that pops-up.

A much lesser site, IMO, has a pic re-sizing option automatically available.
Many modelers are in their Golden Years and this computer stuff is hardly, if best, understood.

Lord knows how many super talented but computer "un-savvy" shall I say politely, "oldsters", are blocked out by what to many younger folk
may seem trivial, but to the "Computer Harpy" fearful, seems insurmountable or just not worth the trouble (sad)

I have a VERY good cyber friend who would faithfully see me through Hell and back to slay the "Re-Size Dragon"
I'm lucky I guess, but not many are so.

Still weighing desirability of tangling with this electronic antagonist to be able to post pics on this site.
If it doesn't work out...I won't be the only loser.(again, sad)

Here's the ant crying into the hurricane......Help Grampy and Grammy ! ....let us just post pics from our desk top photo files,
I have Windows 8. something or other. I love it and have resisted going to 10.0 ?...see what I mean.

Admins - are you using plupload? It's a feature of phpBB that automatically resizes pictures client side when uploading.
I've not written any code for phpBB for a couple of years but I seem to remember this was a simple thing to fix?

No, members just set the size to 600x800 on their chosen photo hosting site and then every time they choose the Bbc link then its sorted
