Milliput Lifespan Question

Post by Engine95 »

Evening Gents,

Does Milliput go bad? It's been about 2 years since I used it. I pulled it out to make a folded tarp for the rear of a tank. I noticed that the white roll was . . well see below. It looks like a sausage link that's ready to come out of the frying pan. Although the inside is still the natural off white color and the yellow stuff still looked normal. I cut off equal parts and mixed them thoroughly. But the final mix was definitely lacking in flexibility. It started to break apart if I rolled it too thin or kneaded it too much.

So does this stuff have a shelf life? Have any of you experienced the same thing?

I tried it a couple of years ago. From memory after about 9 months it became unuseable - looked OK but reacted as you describe.
