Hi from Devon

Post by SmilesPerHour »

Hello,

I'm James, I'm based in North Devon and looking to get into some classic race cars.

I've been looking around for a while building up the courage to have a go at a model.

I have started a revell Porsche 934 and a 99 Subaru 99 WRC

Both are still ongoing but more being used as learnings of what does and doesn't work, so I've broken bits cut bits up and all sorts just to see what you can and can't do.

Will be sitting down and looking at having a proper go shortly on a Revell 69 Camaro which I want to build into a race car, so will get that started and posted soon

Hello James and :welcome: to the ISM forum.

When you get a moment please check out the forum guidelines which can be found ---> here

We'd love to see your work & progress but in order to post photos you will need to host them on an external site such as Flickr and then link to them from the forum. Unfortunately the forum currently doesn't have sufficient capacity or bandwidth to host directly uploaded photos.

There is a quick guide on how to use the Flickr integration on the forum ---> here and a couple of step by step guides in here

As well as the forum boards there is a really useful Modeller Toolkit available which can help with paint matching, paint thinning, glue types & a scale calculator that can be found ---> here

We also run a number of group builds & special interest groups through the year so feel free to enter any of those that you like the look of.

Otherwise take a look around and join in, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Have fun!
Cheers, Neil

Welcome, you're doing the right thing getting some practice up. It's all about experimenting and using whatever bits and pieces you can find to liven up the build. Look forward to seeing what you come up with.
